1. High hardness. The Vickers hardness of ordinary Gcr15 bearing steel is 800HV, while the hardness of zirconia ceramic balls is above 1700HV.
2. High wear resistance. Taking our company's process for processing products as an example, ordinary steel ball grinding (with a margin of one millimeter) takes about 2-4 hours, while silicon nitride ball processing requires at least 150-200 hours.
3. The stability of ceramic materials is the best, especially silicon nitride balls, which hardly react chemically with any substances, and are widely used in petroleum, chemical, food and other industries that require contact with strong oxidants and strong reducing agents.
4. High temperature resistance. During the sintering process, the ceramic ball has to experience high temperature of several thousand degrees Celsius and a lot of pressure. Its internal molecular structure is very stable and the arrangement is very dense, which makes its thermal expansion coefficient very low, and the change of temperature has almost no effect on its structure size. The working temperature of the ceramic ball can reach 1200 degrees Celsius or even higher, and the low temperature has little effect on it, so it is widely used in the aerospace field.
5. Light weight. The weight of ceramic balls is only 50%-60% of ordinary steel balls, and it has great prospects in the fields of bearings and aerospace.
6. Self-lubricating. The ceramic ball itself has good self-lubricating performance and high machining accuracy. It can reach G5, G10 grade, the ceramic ball is wear-resistant and stable in structure, and it is not easy to deform, so it can be finished and applied to many special industries.
7. Insulation. Ceramic has good insulating effect.
