I’ve been having fun with this glass etching paste. It’s water-based and non-toxic, so it feels safe to use, even if you don’t have much experience with this kind of project. The paste is really easy to apply—no need for fancy tools or equipment, which is great for someone like me who doesn’t have a lot of artistic training.Once it’s dry, the etched design is permanent and looks nice. I used a pre-cut stencil for my project, but you could easily make your own if you want something custom. It also cleans up really well—just wash everything off with water, and there’s no mess left behind. I’ve used it on glass, but it works on ceramics and metal too, so there’s a lot of potential. It’s a fun way to personalize items, and the kit comes with everything you need to get started right away.

I saw someone on TikTok personalize glasses for their wedding using glass etching and thought it was such a great gift idea. I've been testing this out to get a better idea of how to use it, but since it's my first time using such a product I don't have anything to compare it to. I love that the kit comes with a set of brushes and that it's approachable for anyone. I did find that the seal didn't work for the product, because some of it was leaking when I first opened it (it does make sense though because the product is corrosive). I will say that the etch is pretty light and you can see brushstrokes if you apply it too thin. I did leave it on for much longer than the packaging suggests but was still surprised that it was a bit light. Here's what I've found you need to do to get the best result:- wear gloves at all times, even when you open the container, so you don't get the etch on your skin- mix the etch really well before you start (mine was pretty separated and very thick at the bottom)- use a stencil. I freehanded my tests and the edges feathered because there wasn't an even thick layer all around- make sure you're applying the etch thickly and in an even layer so you don't see brushstrokes- leave it for longer than the bottle says. I left mine for 30 minutes and was okay with the result- wipe the etching off with a paper towel before rinsing so you don't worry about the etch in your sink or drainI think that with practice, we can all make some awesome glass etched gifts. Overall, this is a great beginner's kit at a decent price for those that want to give it a try.

This cream is easy to apply and works just fine for beginners. The bottle is small but also inexpensive.
