Ljjed how string they feel better than cheaper plastic . Very flexible

My existing pipe covers are yellowing with age (and the heat, no doubt) so time to replace. Whereas the old ones were a thin PVC wrap-around these covers are a thicker flexible tube, quite thick in a sort of silicone-type material (the product description doesn't say what the material is nor is there anything on the plain white box they came in). Because they are a flexible material I would imagine they might also suit less than straight pipes.I cut the tube fairly easily with a pair of scissors, though I think that a blade might have made a more level cut as there is some thickness to cut through. The tubes come in a 20cm length so rather than use 2 whole tubes for my shorter length pipes I used what I had left from 1 tube and cut the remaining length from the second tube. I then placed the 2 pieces on the pipe, with my cut edges at the top and bottom respectively, and they butted in very well that the join hardly shows. Being that the rad pipes are at floor level it's not at all noticeable and it saves on wasted pipe. My pipes are pretty standard and I can feel a slight gap at the back of the tube but as it's facing the wall it's not a problem.I didn't use the collars as I only wanted to replace the covers in rooms where the pipes came through carpets so they weren't necessary.Very pleased with these tubes. Shame you don't get the choice of packs with and without the collars.

So east to cut and fit makes a big difference to the radiators look

This is a pack of 10 pipe covers and 10 pipe collars in white but they are also available in black.The pipe covers are made of a soft flexible plastic that looks and feels like silicon and they have a smooth glossy finish. The pipe covers are 200mm long with a nominal 20mm diameter and a 15mm bore. They are split along their length to enable them to be wrapped around a radiator pipe. My pipes are 10mm microbore, and slightly bent, but the covers will also fit 15mm pipes as too.The pipe collars are 55mm in diameter with a 15mm bore. They appear to be made of rigid plastic material which looks like polystyrene. These are also split to wrap around a pipe and can be closed afterwards.Installation is very easy and takes only a couple of minutes. You will only need a tape measure and a pair of scissors to cut the pipe covers to length. The pipe covers are easily cut with scissors.I initially fitted one around a radiator pipe and used a plastic collar. However, you will only need to use the plastic collars if the hole that the pipe goes through is large and leaves a gap. After fitting a collar around the pipe where it enters the floor I measured the distance between the top of the collar and the underside of the nut where the pipe enters the valve. I then cut a pipe cover to this length and wrapped it around the pipe. The result was a much improved appearence. However, in my situation, the pipe goes through the carpet and I realised that it wasn't necessary to use the collar. I therefore removed the collar and cut a new piece to suit the distance between the carpet and the valve. I think the result looks very neat and I don't have to paint the pipes again. The pipes/collars are easy to remove again if necessary.While the pipe covers are a big improvement over the painted pipes the only negative is that the pipes and collars are made of different plastics and are slightly different colours. They are also a little more expensive than similar alternatives especially if you don't need the collars.
