I ordered these bracing plates for my home workshop inventory; bracing plates are handy when wooden furniture breaks or when weak wooden joints pull apart. These 3"x5/8" bracing plates are made from (nonmagnetic) stainless steel, they have rounded ends, and each plate's four screw holes are countersunk for screw flush fit. The 2 mm thick stainless steel is plenty stiff for small bracing plate use. The plates were stamped from sheet steel; the unpolished edges have a plate back burr that is not cutting sharp (shrug). On first glance the plate front appears painted with grey paint; that's a protective plastic film that peels off uncovering a shiny nickel finish. The package contains 12 bracing plates and 48 M4x16mm countersink wood screws in a zip closure plastic envelope.

You get 12 mending braces in this order. I’m repairing and refurbishing my boat and I’m using these on the inside of the fiberglass hull as braces for eyebolts and so on, which mount on the outside. I don't want those pulling through, maybe even breaking the fiberglass, and they’re working well for me.Each pieces measures about 3 inches long. They’re predrilled for your screws or bolts, 4 holes each.
