I've used Abu Garcia reels for many years. This one is a little smaller than the 6501 C 3 I normally use but supply chains are slow and I needed a reel so I got what I expected. This reel is better for Steelhead than Chinook but it will do that job also. The reel is rated for 12 lb mono or 30 lb braided. Naturally ,the local sporting goods store had either 20 lb or 50 lb ( limited choices is the apparent future ) so I put 125 yards of 50 lb test braided and it's working pretty well. Circumstances are conditioning us to take what we can get now. But Abu Garcia is a very good, Swedish made product.
