I wanted a carpet tape that does not leave any residue because it's not worth the money to buy tape that will eventually require you to spend a long time cleaning off the sticky residue. I have other carpet tape that does not leave a residue, but at the same time it doesn't have much holding power. This ADHES tape it has both. It is extremely sticky and it has the holding power to keep the carpet stuck to the floor. After taping down my carpet I experimentally pulled up one end of the carpet (this was 3 hours later--and it took a lot of pulling) and I found no residue on my floor.As mentioned, the double-side tape is extremely sticky. My scissors were dull and the tape kept sticking to the blades of the scissors. I made a total mess cutting it, so I recommend using your sharpest scissors.Once cut, I found the tape kept sticking to my fingers as I tried to remove the backing. I found the simplest way to apply the tape is to stick the tape on the carpet and then remove the backing.The tape is very strong. The woven pattern of the materials on the tape is visible. With the carpet in place, I tested the hold of the tape by kicking the carpet edge to see if the tape would budge or rip, but it held fast and did not move or rip.To test if the tape would leave a residue, I removed a small section of the tape from the floor. When removed I did not see any sticky residue on the floor or on the carpet. It's a miracle!This is now my favourite carpet tape.5/5 stars

This double-sided carpet tape exceeded my expectations with its strong adhesive and ease of use. The large roll provides plenty of tape for even big projects, and its grid pattern weave adds durability. While the tape has a slight smell on the roll, it seems like it won’t be noticeable once in use, especially if you only use a small portion.Cutting the tape is simple, though removing the backing requires a bit of patience. However, it’s not a dealbreaker, it took just a few minutes to install on my project. I used it to secure a thin carpet to a carpet pad in a high-traffic area, and it’s holding up impressively well compared to other tapes I’ve tried.This is a reliable, heavy-duty solution that’s worth the investment.

This tape is probably going to be very YMMV, as despite it saying it's for carpets and rugs it might have differences in how well it adheres to the carpet itself. One of my carpets had a non-slip layer that the tape had trouble sticking to but it was still enough to keep it in place.The adhesive portion itself is extremely sticky and durable with the internal weave inside it. I was able to remove it from surfaces without much residue if at all.However the main drawback of this is the backing paper being extremely low quality. It appears to be made in two layers and I've honestly never seen the backing paper be ripped as I'm peeling it off until now. The top layer of the backing paper rips off and the bottom layer remains stuck on the double sided tape, requiring trying to peel up a corner so you can continue peeling it off.The other drawback is that the adhesive is a bit too strong, if it accidentally folds or touches itself then you can't separate it again and need to completely start over. It also made removing the packaging a pain as somehow the shrinkwrap is adhered to the side of the tape.
