This is a small silicone strainer that allows you to drain the food without placing the strainer into the sink.The strainer sits on the edge of the sink and should drain string into it but as my sink has a small raised edge i found the strainer held onto a lot of water as it was slightly tipped back. I am able to get it to drain properly by placing it on the draining board but i can only do that if i haven't already started washing up while cooking.When the strainer is flat it works really well and i have used it for peas, sweetcorn and noodles so far and nothing came through the slots for straining so all good there.The size is perfect for smaller portions.

I received this item via the vine programme and here is my honest and unbiased review.This is a really very good practical colander, use for any thing and everything.Made of nice strong silicone, it is a very useful addition to the kitchen cupboard.Best used for draining pasta, just place in your sink and pour your pan of pasta in.Just remember that this is silicone so is not a rigid draining bowl, so be careful.This is priced at £17.99 and I think this is just a tiny wee bit high.I do like this, but must say that I really really don't like the colour at all.4 stars!

Works well as something to have on the draining board next to the sink to let the drips run off.As a strainer for some things the holes would be too large, but it works fine for many foods and I've used it for pasta and noodles but also when preparing frozen fruits and washing a salad to allow the run off to drain away and to empty tins of peas into to get rid of the water without wasting the peas.Easily dishwashable and compact enough to throw in a kitchen drawer, but worked well. Doesn't seem to "stick" the food as much as a strainer, which always ends up with bits stuck to it, and a bit easier to hold than a strainer with a long handle full of heavy potatoes, for example.
