Die Mary Rose war ein Kriegsschiff der englischen Tudor-Marine von König Heinrich VIII. Nachdem sie 33 Jahre lang in mehreren Kriegen gegen Frankreich, Schottland und die Bretagne gedient hatte, sah sie ihre letzte Aktion am 19. Juli 1545. Während sie den Angriff auf die Galeeren einer französischen Invasionsflotte anführte, sank sie im Solent. Great little kit, it’s fun to build and paint, it is historically well known for the large amount of English longbows and arrows found on the actual ship when it sank in the Solent in 1545, so educational too. The kit comes with a brush, paints and cement and decals and stickers for the flags.

Nice wee kit with fine detail. I intend to make a number of models at the same time. Keep one and give the others as Christmas presents.

This an easy to make model.The paints that come with this model are acrylic not the enamel paint that they used to supply. This just means a few more layers of paint than had you’d used enamel paints. This isn’t much of a problem. When the item is finished you can then paint with acrylic varnish that leaves a hard finish that stops paint from coming off when knocked.Pros easy to assemble model not to many finicky parts than can get lost .Cons the paints were solid so I had to got to Airfix to get all of my colours because Amazon didn’t hold the full range. Plastic is a little on the flimsy side and makes the ship look a little cheap. The whole thing was fine apart from a couple of the paints are unusable, no amount of water is going to bring those back to life.
