Was a little skeptical ordering this, but honestly? I’m blown away. This stereo transformed the driving experience in my 2016 Ram 1500.Installation was straightforward — took me about 1.5 hours with some basic tools and a YouTube video. Just make sure you have the manual AC setup, since it’s not compatible with the automatic climate controls.The screen is sharp and responsive, and the Android 13 interface is smooth, no lag or glitches so far. I mainly use wireless CarPlay, and it connects within seconds every time — no more fumbling with cables. Bluetooth calls and audio are crystal clear.The 2GB RAM + 64GB storage combo handles everything I need — music apps, Google Maps, podcasts — without freezing. FM radio works well too, and it even pulls in stations better than my stock unit did.One unexpected bonus: the steering wheel controls synced right up, no extra adapters needed. Also, the GPS and WiFi features are solid — great if you're using offline maps or a hotspot.A few notes:The screen is big and bright, but might reflect sunlight a bit during daytime.Fit and finish are great, but not OEM perfect — still looks very clean though.Overall, if you're driving an older Ram and want modern tech without breaking the bank, this stereo is absolutely worth it.

The installation was odd. I'm no stranger to installing these screens but this one was tough because the fit seems a bit off. I got it to fit "well enough" but didn't seem quite 100%... but it still holds in place fine and you wouldn't even notice it if you weren't the one who installed it though. This was pretty much exclusively used with Carplay and it works quite well: it's responsive and works as it should. No weird disconnects and was easy to connect my phone to it.

Took a couple days to get this fitted into my Ram but with some patience I was able to firmly secure the bracket in place. The 3 holes weren't orientated properly and it's a bit of a squeeze to get the angle just right so that the bracket sits flush and firm while the knobs are able to turn properly without any friction from the bracket.Bracket aside, the screen quality is super good and no complaints at all on the screen/technology!

I'll start with what I didn't like first.The connectors on the harness does not "Click" in when plugging into the back of the head unit. This left me unsure if I had a positive connection. To make this even more concerning was that not all connections where even.I used a plastic trim tool to press them in but the ones that where a little proud would not seat any further. I removed the harness to check for bent pins. There where none.Second thing I dislike is that the side menu does not light up. I have a base truck which does not have steering wheel buttons. So, if I want to turn adjust the volume at night I need to turn the lights on in the cab to see. Perhaps there is a way to turn these on in the menu?Third and lastly, Built in Navigation. I did not set an address but I did drive with it on. GPS seems to keep up fine but, it will annoy you with a voiceover, telling you that you are going over the speed limit. Again, might be able to turn this setting off in the menu. I didn't try as I use Apple Carplay anyway.Now for what I do like.Install was a breeze. There are no soldering or butt connectors to make. Simple plug and play. All connections worked.Screen is responsive. I haven't experienced any delays when working through the menu.Sound is decent. I do have the stock speakers so not 100% sure on sound quality, but for what I do have it sounds fine to me. EQ has plenty of adjustments. I did order a full set of speakers. Will see if this makes an improvement. Ether way it sounds fine.Overall I am happy with my purchase. Time will tell if any quality issues come up. If they do I will update this review.
