I have a 48 inch chest so I bought the XXL. I have other XXL jackets that fit fine. This one was 4 inches short of even being able to close at my chest. I would guess that it would fit someone with a 40-42 inch chest. Sadly, I have to return it. It is a nice jacket - but it does not have the striped lining of the jacket in the picture - which is a shame, as that was a selling point to me.

Just received the jacket. I'm amazed at the quality. Good leather. Highly recommended. In regard to some of the comments about sizing - order your normal size. If you normally order a coat in a large, get this in a large. If you normally order a medium in a coat, get a medium. I normally get a large in a cloth coat, so I got this in a large and the fit was fine. (I'm 5 ft. 9 in. with a 42-44 jacket size.) Very impressed by the jacket and the service. Received it the morning after I ordered it. Many thanks.

Firstly I purchased size XL and it run too small. Then return it and purchased 2XL. It’s the same size as XL. All sizes are same. Very poor quality control on sizing. Before I purchased 2XL, I asked seller to make sure sizing. But they failed me. I’m returning it and never buy from that seller.
