Great for being able to carry either of my cats, and having multiple entrances made it much easier to get them out at the vet. It fully unzip, so even the most stubborn cats can be easier. I got two. The second does have a zipper that sticks a bit, but it still works fine. No issues other than that. I also love that I can secure the "doors" open and leave it out to let my cats use it whenever they want and become accustomed to it.

When this item arrives it is in a box with an absolutely tragic story of the founder losing their cat due to a backpack carrier malfunctioning.This sparked the journey to create a backpack that is (hopefully) genuinely trustworthy and structurally sound. I bought quite a few backpacks to compare and while I may have preferred the features of some others, this was by far the highest quality construction. Seams and zippers feel reinforced and strong (as they should if I’m about to trust it with my baby’s life).I do wish the straps were a bit further apart as they tend to put a bit of unnecessary pressure on my shoulder/upper back/neck area. The structural integrity of the pop out tunnel could also use some improvement and is lacking far behind many of the competitors.That being said, all other ones I held felt thinner, flimsier (general backpack material, not tunnel) and less reinforced.For that reason this is the only backpack I’ve found worth recommending.

My cat has always been very shy and fearful of new anything. I was worried she would take a while to warm up to this carrier, so I ordered it a couple weeks before we planned on driving across the US with her. We left it out in the living room with her toys and a few treats inside it to let her get accustomed to the carrier with the tunnel open so she could “hide” in it.Well, when it was finally moving day, she meowed the ENTIRE 45 minutes it took for me to get across town to the vehicle we were driving in and her carrier. I thought oh this isn’t going to work! But I put her into the carrier and she immediately quieted down and curled up for a nap. She happily stayed in this carrier *by choice* most of the 5 day journey!When we would get out for fuel, hotels, to walk the dogs, or to grab something to eat we’d put her in the backpack and she actually enjoyed looking around from the safety of her little carrier window. When we would unpack in the hotel room each night, we’d open up the tunnel and she would decide when she was ready to exit to explore, or not. I really think this carrier was the best possible one for our journey.Now that we’re settled in she will sometimes get into it (or a cabinet) whenever someone new comes over. I think it will be great for vet visits or any future travel as well.Bottom line, I would definitely get this carrier for the sturdy backpack option and because it also functions as a little cat bed once you get to wherever you’re going.

Super comfortable, I take it from NJ to Boston every few months. I don’t think I’ve used it on a plane but I got this because I believe I could use it on a plane if needed since it opens to give him space and I think it’s small enough to fit under the plane seats. I have used it on a train and public transportation though. I have tried other carriers like the plastic ones and the over the shoulder ones which are horribly uncomfortable because my cat is very heavy. With this backpack I almost forget he’s back there. I love that the handle has a cushion and the back cushions are also really nice, the bottom is super sturdy and holds it’s shape, and it can also be unzipped and folded to take up less space. In my dorm I keep it out and completely open (I love that there’s a little lining that keeps it nice and neat when the extension isn’t being used and then folds out as a little cushion for him. My cat naps in there every single day, there are plenty of flaps and openings to put him in but usually I literally just pick him up and put him in through the top zipper or the bigger side zipper and he gets comfy while I close it. I can and have easily lured him in there with a teaser too (he doesn’t respond to treats much). It’s also just aesthetically pleasing honestly. Super great quality and amazing design, impressed. They thought of everything. Even my huge water bottle fits in the pocket thing although the only thing I would suggest is making that side pocket more suitable to a water bottle because while it is functional and could carry a water bottle it’s not really made for that so the bottle isn’t super secure but since I use it to travel water is necessary for me and him.

The brisk Tails backpack is fantastic! It has breathable fabric, secure zippers, lumbar protection, a car safety belt, extendable walls, a protective leash, and mesh windows instead of plastic windows, excellent quality and cute packaging, but the main quality is that Zoe felt comfortable and protected and enjoyed the ride.
