The ball return needs 2 AA batteries to work. It has a winded popper that acts likes a mantis shrimp punch to bring the ball back. Be careful as I put my finger near it and got a pretty hard tap. It lies flat and works best on turf for similar flooring.

A little gimmicky, but a cheap way to get fast putting reps in. It's a little generous with accepting the ball, so probably not the best for accuracy practice. Sends the ball back quickly and is fairly straight from 8-10 ft away. May be better suited for practicing speed control from longer distances. I use this on the flat portion of my "Perfect Practice" style putting mat to mix things up: the mat is better suited for accuracy practice but the slope makes speed control a little weird. Haven't had any issues with the device slipping on the mat.It didn't work quite right with the first set of AA rechargeable batteries I put in, worked fine with a different pair of rechargeables and worked well with alkalines. Seems like the motor is sensitive to the type of batteries you put in.
