These are VGA split adapters (Y cable) that will work ONLY if you place them before the VGA cable.Meaning, that these need to be connected to the Video card output, then you connect the VGA cable to these adapters, then those cables connect to displays.If you want to connect these AFTER the VGA cable (between cables and displays), they won't connect.I purchased these without looking carefully, and could not use them. I mean, yes, you could order gender changers to convert these adapters to the "After Cable" type, but the video signal halves on ever connector, so, with gender changes, and these Y splitters, your setup signal level would be below the display input sensitivity level. You would have issues with displays recognizing the input, and video quality / focus.Other than this not being specified in description, these are great quality adapters, no problems with them.

Only received 1 of the two-pack. I did not read the listing well enough as I need to extend the desktop and this cable will not do that. I returned the item for a refund.I was contacted by the seller Cable Matters. They apologized that the order did not meet my expectation. A refund is on it's way and I truly appreciate their desire to assure the customer is completely satisfied. I would recommend this seller and would purchase from them again.

Does exactly what I wanted it to... after I make sure to use IDENTICAL monitorsNOTE: people don't seem to realize that this is just a splitter. There is no way to get different pictures (such as extended display) on the two monitors. You need more video card outputs or possibly a USB to VGA adapter to do that.This has made life 100x better in our lab. We have a system with knobs to turn in two rooms, but you need constant feedback while turning the knobs. Now we can have a display at each control station without having to manually unhook and hook the VGA cables from the PC.The cable works as intended. However, I rated it only as 4 stars because the design has limitations over something like a VGA switch:1)Displays very sensitive to differences: in principle, the monitors should only need to have the same resolution and refresh rate. However, I found that if we did not use IDENTICAL brands and models, one of the images was messed up.2)splitting the signal reduces the brightness of the final image, as these are not amplified splitters. I would not suggest daisy chaining these things, because the signal may quickly become too dim to see.

What you need to be aware of is that you need to set the splitter inline-> what I mean by that is, don't attach directly to the back of the computer vga output - attach a regular monitor cable directly to the computer, then affix the y-splitter to the end of that cable - then run your two separate cables to the two separate monitors. Great cheap way to duplicate your screen without purchasing a pci gpu. Just also make sure to select a screen resolution that works for both monitors if you are using two different sizes...the refresh rate @ 60khz can cause "lines" to run up and down the screen - these will disappear when you have found the proper screen resolution that works with both monitors. Great buy, esp the 2 for $10 deal.

This item will do the job of splitting your VGA Video signal. The only problem I have is that once it splits the signal I can not get any better resolution than 800x600. My computer will not recognize a dual monitor so it mirrors the first one. With the lower resolution number Items will not fit my screen properly, even-though I am using 24" monitors. Makes me feel like I am sitting real close to my old 19" ones. So please keep this in mind when you order something like this. I gave the higher mark since it does split the signal but not the way I was wanting. The seller is great and shipping was excellent so no problem there. This might work if you were doing a video wall or something along those lines if you can find a driver to change the screen aspect.
