A total POS. If you don't want to lose your sanity do not buy this. I had high hopes. It failed tremendously! I have been crocheting for 35 years. This is the worst tool I have ever bought for crocheting.

This yarn winder is an absolute game-changer. I don't know why I put off getting one for so long. It was able to wind a full ~200 yard skein into a center-pull cake in 5 minutes with almost no hands-on effort on my part. I put the yarn into a high-sided bowl next to the winder and it worked automatically. I say it's mostly hands-off because you do have to stand by in case there's a tangle that needs to be worked out, but even if you were winding it yourself into a ball you would run into the same issue. Otherwise it spins smoothly and works quickly.I had a few balls of scrap yarn that are forever rolling away and a few hanks that I had just wrapped the yarn around the center that were driving me crazy, and this quickly sorted them out into manageable hanks. I hate winding yarn by hand but this was actually fun to use.So far I've used this with tee shirt yarn and various acrylic, cotton, and blends in DK and worsted weight and each one worked amazingly well. It's easy to set up and use and works so fast. The resulting center-pull cakes are wound just tightly enough and are well shaped for stacking, storing, and using. It's so much easier to crochet from a center-pull cake than from a skein or ball that it takes the frustration out of crocheting.

Ob Garn von außen oder innen abgewickelt wird – es funktioniert beides problemlos. Auch das fertige Knäuel ist gleichmäßig und stabiler als viele selbst gewickelte.**Verarbeitung & Haltbarkeit: ⭐⭐⭐**Die Verarbeitung wirkt eher billig und lässt Zweifel an der Langlebigkeit aufkommen. Gerade bei schwereren Garnknäulen sollte man vorsichtig sein oder eventuell mit einer zusätzlichen Vorrichtung arbeiten.**Benutzerfreundlichkeit: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐**Einfach anzuschließen, kompakt und leicht zu bedienen. Ideal, wenn man regelmäßig Garn nutzt und sich Zeit sparen möchte.**Fazit: ⭐⭐⭐⭐**Ein sehr hilfreiches Gerät für alle, die häufig mit Wolle arbeiten. Der günstige Preis überzeugt, auch wenn die Qualität noch Luft nach oben hat. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass es lange hält – ansonsten wird nachgebessert.

It does the job, but just randomly stops about every 20 seconds. So I have to turn it off and back on again. It's not a tension issue because I've been unraveling my yarn to avoid any tension or knots. It does make pretty cakes though. If this one gives out soon, I'll probably go with a cheaper one.Edit: Caydo reached out to me and wanted to resolve the issue. They sent me a new one and so far it works great. They are a great company to work with you if you have any issues.

I never knew such a nifty device even existed. After having to hand-wind 2 balls of yarn from a blanket project I decided to redo, this yarn winder is a wonder. It took both balls and wound into easy to use cakes in just minutes with very little effort. I wish I had had this before winding by hand. Now I can pull from the middle without all the "guts" getting tangled like they do from the store skiens. I'll be using this to rewind all my yarns going forward. Watching the 2 very short instructional videos were only helpful enough to get the general idea of how it should work but the written directions were clear enough to get the unit assembled (1 screw required and a screwdriver is included) and threaded correctly. The winding was generally problem free. The first ball got tangled on the cake at some point that I missed so I just pulled enough yarn off to get back to that point and then fed the yarn through my fingers to get caught back up to where I had originally stopped it. It was super quick and seemless. The 2nd ball also tangled briefly at one point but I was watching and able to immediately stop, untangle and then continue in just moments. It does take a little watching and adjustments to use but really is so minimal its super easy to use and the results are well worth it. The total time was less than 10 minutes. Now I just want to get the larger size winder!

Der Garnwickler funktioniert bei mir super. Das Garn wird schnell und mühelos zu einem Knäul gewickelt.Die Knäule sind sauber gewickelt und sind ein Traum beim verstricken. Ich stricke von Außen nach Innen und die letzte Stunde sieht die Mitte des Knäuls verheddert aus. Das sieht aber nur so aus. Das Garn wickelt sich weiter Problemlos ab.Mir hat es so gut gefallen, dass ich darüber nachdenke all meine Wolle vor dem verarbeiten zu wickeln. Mit dem Garnwickler geht das wirklich schnell und eifnach.Der Garnwickler ist schnell zusammengeschraubt, der Faden ist auch schnell eingefädelt und er macht schöne Garnkneule.Als Stromkabel liegt ein USB Kabel bei. Das finde ich nicht so gut, aber da es auf dem Produktbild so abgebildet ist, ziehe ich hier keinen Stern ab.Was mir überhaupt nicht gefällt ist die billige Verarbeitung. Der Wollwickler ist aus Plastik und man sieht ihm an, dass er nur ein paar Jahre halten wird.Für die billige Verarbeitung finde ich den Preis nicht angemessen, deshalb nur 4 Sterne.
