I used the stones for finishing off cutting tools made from Silver steel(Drill rod) and also High Speed steel lathe bits. I had read that achieving a smooth honed cutting edge gives the best finish on the work. Using these stones helped me get that finish. The stones come in a well cushioned plastic case. They seem fairly robust but I handle them carefully.

Many uses, great for surface finishing, sharpening, removing blemishes etc. Very fine hard abbrasive

Nice stones, having a couple of different grit in the set is useful.

First class for removing sharp edges / burrs from metal assemblies or to resharpen an edge.Variety of shapes ensures you can get at the corners and follow the contours - edges.On parts that slide across each other the stones impart a fine polished smooth finish.Just the job, would buy again.

For the price of any Ruby stones these come in fairly inexpensive. I have used these to break edges on quite a few metal projects and they work great. I keep them soaking in a light oil. I would purchase these again if I had too. The container they are in took about a five foot fall and none of them broke, which surprised me.
