Well designed along the simple cantilever principle & mechanism, there is nothing to break or wear out.1.5 mm approx. galvanised, not hot dipped, pressed steel plate.All held together with big fat flanged rivets.The protective silicone rubber? boot has an optimal density. It holds all things I have tried under reasonable pressure with leaving any marks or 'blemishes' on the work piece, as QA like to say.Good simple tools, very good price.
