Tomahawk della cold steel made in Taiwan. Questo modello è intermedio tra il trailhawk e il Riflemans. Finiture sono ok, il tomahawk è ben costruito; va solo affilato e corredato di un decente fodero in cuoio. Il manico è un bel po’ lungo (22”) ma è fatto di una bella noce americana e presto si ci abitua.

I am not a stranger to cold steel, I have several of their folders and machetes. I was curious about their hawks, I have never owned one until now. I paid $23 directly from Amazon as the seller. That is a great price for the hawk. It is made in Taiwan from 1055 carbon steel a good steel for this application, it won’t chip as easy, it will keep an edge fairly well and it is easy to sharpen. It does not come sharp you would need to put your edge on it. The handle is hickory not a very high grade but good based on pricing. There is no sheath included I know cold steel offers a nylon one for like $6-$9 but you can get plenty of aftermarket leather ones or you can make your own. The only downfall is that screw that supposed to keep the head in place, just take it off and dispose of it. It will damage the handle. These hawks supposed to be taken apart on the spot, just wack it up right to remove the head or wack it downward to secure it. Hawks work on friction for retention. One thing I do recommend is to file the eye of the head on the inside for any sharp edges. Sand off the clear coating on the handle, sand any Damage the screw caused the handle and cure it with linseed oil. After several coats and several days, your handle should be conditioned and weather proofed. Make sure the handle slides into the eye smoothly and all parts of the handle are touching the inside of the eye. It’s a hawk not an axe, you might be ok handling 6” branches and split/process kindlind. In a pinch you can slide the head out and use it to clean small game. In addition to an edge the other end can be used as a hammer. I do think it’s a good camping tool, it can work as a defensive tool if need. Can you throw it, you can but you are risking damaging the handle. They also sell hawk handles for like $11 in case it needs another one. I would recommend this hawk to others.

Buen producto, muy recomendable para hacerle alguna modificación, en youtube tienes muchas de ellas para inspirarte.Yo le corte el mango, le hice algunos diseños de los indios americanos con el pirograbador, después varias capas de aceite de linaza y finalmente lije y pavone la cabeza del tomahawk.

Sehr geil das Ding , ich hab’s noch selbst bisschen bearbeitet, das Hässliche schwarz runter und was schönens eingraviert , man kann sein Spaß damit haben

Hängt an der Wand und dafür ist es auch ok.Aber für alles andere nicht zu gebrauchen.Kopf wackelte bereits bei der Anlieferung, aber was will man bei dem Preis auch erwarten.Also, ganz schönes Deko Stück.

Ein wirklich schöner Tomahawk! Der " Pfeifenkopf" ist aber nicht hohl oder durchbohrt. Nur als Hammer gebräuchlich und als Tomahawk.

Für den angebotenen Preis ein sehr gutes Tomahawk. Das es lackiert ist kann man übersehen, sehr einfach zu brünieren. Anpassung an den Schaft ist erforderlich, war aber abzusehen. Für den "kleinen" Vorrat an Brennholz sehr gut geeignet.

被災時のがれき対策で購入しました。商品説明が非常に不足している状態で注文しましたが、届いて確認してみるとコールドスチールのパイプホークで台湾製でした。刃は「かえり」が壮大？に残っている状態で研ぎなおしが必要でした。ちょっと困ったのは、このモデルはシースが付属してなかったのですよね。別途発注しました。シースの自作？･･･不器用な私には無理です。(笑)購入したもう一つの目的は、海外の動画で見た黒染めをしてみたかったのです。完成した写真をＵＰしておきます。なお、柄がやたら白っぽかったのとツルツルだったので、柿渋とTru oilを塗り滑り止めを彫りました。

Die Pipe Hawk wurde gekauft und für unser Hobby, Mittelalter, etwas umgestaltet. Auch im einsatz hat sie sich gut bewährt und tut was man von ihr erwartet. Wir haben noch eine Spike Hawk von ColdSteel in gebrauch die ebenso einen sehr guten Eindruck hinterlassen hat. Klare Kaufempfehlung.

Cold Steel Klinge ist super, keine Verarbeitungsfehler zu erkennen, moderat scharf geliefert und hat sich bereits praktisch bewährt.Einziges Manko ist der Schaft: Nicht gut abgeschliffen (kleinere Absplitterung), der Axtkopf hat leichtes Spiel im Schaft - nicht so das es gefährlich wäre, aber es nervt und generell sieht die Einfassung des Axtkopfes grob und wenig professionell aus.Aber das lässt sich alles beheben. Entweder man tauscht den Schaft komplett aus, oder aber bearbeitet, wie ich es getan habe, das ganze einfach ein bisschen. Abschleifen, ölen, Einfassung ausbessern -> dann hat man ein sehr schönes, preiswertes und funktionales Tomahawk.

Das Pipe Hawk kam heute an, die Verarbeitung ist gut und es gibt nichts zu meckern. Allerdings mag ich die schwarze Lackbeschichtung der Klinge nicht und habe sie mit einer Bohrmaschine mit Stahlbürstenvorsatz entfernt, danach die Klinge mit Schnellbrünierung blauschwarz brüniert und die bereits ab Werk gute Schärfe verbessert und im Anschluß den unteren Klingenbereich spiegelblank poliert. Den Axtstiel habe ich mit Stahlwolle vom Klarlack befreit und danach gewachst. Die Axt bzw. das Beil ist wie vom Hersteller geliefert eine gute Grundlage für eigene kreative Tätigkeiten. Am Stielende werde ich noch ein Loch für einen Lanyard bohren, der die Handhabung verbessern und ein durchrutschen des stiels verhindern wird. Ich bin sowohl mit dem Produkt, wie auch mit meiner Modifikation sehr zufrieden.
