Certainly a handy gizmo to have on hand but the software, a separate download, works only with crucial branded drives. Other than that it was a straight forward process to clone my drive, first time I’ve ever done this, and I’m quite happy with the kit.

Mit diesem Kit kann man 2.5" Festplatten aller Art in ein 3.5 Zoll Mounting einsetzen. Fest und sicher. Montagematerial anbei. Was will man mehr?! Kaufen!

The image on the Amazon page needs to be updated. There is no CD, but there is a certificate licensing a, presumably, one-time-use download of Acronis drive cloning software. There is also a different adapter cable, not the one shown in the image, that makes it very simple to connect a "bare" hard drive to a USB port (the USB port powers the HD).I had doubts about the relatively stiff price of the simple looking install kit, but when I got into my Acer desktop and looked at the HD rack I was happy to have the kit bracket. Without it, I would have been zip-tieing and/or taping the new Crucial SSD in place.Worked out great, very easy installation in about 15 minutes, not counting the 30-40 minutes spent setting up and cloning the data from the old HD. The speed of the new Crucial SSD is simply amazing. I'll never have an old-fashioned mechanical drive again.Ed B.
