NO ES LO QUE ESPERABA POR ESTE PRECIO, LOS PELOS SE SEPARAN EN CUANTO PIERDEN ALGO DE HUMEDAD EN EL TAMAÑO 10, EN LOS PEQUEÑOS AUN PEOR.

I bought these on recommendations from you tube artists, however I found the Size 10 brush far too bulky to hold and uncomfortable so I sent the complete set back for a refund. Although still waiting for the refund, a little slow on that point.

I am an artist and normally when I travel I take oil paints and canvases, but decided for a 5 week trip to France to sketch with watercolors. I purchased this set, along with a basic Winsor & Newton watercolor set. The brushes were perfect. I carried them to the field to sketch and paint, and they pack into such a nice small space and are the brushes were protected perfectly so that they stayed in excellent shape for all my excursions. You simply unscrew the end/cap and pull out the brush and screw it back in. Then when you are finished you turn it around so the brush is inside the tube/handle. The tube/handles are a very comfortable size for gripping while paintings, and the quality of the sable bristles holds its shape well, and holds a nice amount of paint and water as you apply each stroke on paper. These brushes are well worth the investment and are so packable and lightweight, that it makes it easy to carry them where ever you go.

I have a size 4—1503 Kolinsky (branded by Daniel Smith) that is probably 15+ years old which is still going strong. It has been a part of my travel sketch/watercolor kit for years. It has consistently been one of my favorite small rounds—travel or not.Within the past year I added a size 6 and 8 series 1503 and size 10 series 1573 da Vinci travel brush to my growing watercolor kit. I could not justify around $100 on the sable 1503 size 10 at that time and the Cosmotop synthetic while quite nice, still left a hole for a sable. So when I stumbled over this set of three and saw the amazing price I just had to order them. Right now on Amazon the three brushes if purchased alone would cost about $170…almost $90 more than this set. This is an amazing deal, but better yet it is an amazing deal on three very usefully sized, well made, high quality, sable brushes. The price of the set was less than purchasing the size 10 alone...that is what pushed me over the edge.I have found these to feel better in hand than metal cased travel brushes which for me feel unbalanced and slick. These travel particularly well. After use they can be easily tossed in my bag or pocket with no concern. Once home I clean them well with Master’s soap, leaving soap in the hair and then allowed to dry overnight before casing them. The soap keeps the hairs pointed so casing is easy with no damage. If left to dry without soap the hair expands out and are difficult to case. They are best not left to slowly dry in the case though as the ventilation hole is small and the hair does not dry fast enough to prevent mildew.I highly recommend these travel brushes as great tools. They point well, hold plenty of water, can be shaken near dry to pick up color. The size 4 and 6 are easy to forget they were designed for travel, (the 10 is pretty fat compared to a standard brush but still handles nicely). I use mine almost as much as I do my standard full-sized brushes. And with the bargain price you cannot “afford” to pass them up.BTW, the case is nice too!Five stars for both quality and price.

Damaged. Some splitting of the hair in the larger sizes. And that in two out of three sets. Some loose hairs. I doubt da Vinci would send it out this way. They have meticulous, high standards.I was disappointed in the quality. I expected better. However, the one out of three sets I got that was better quality does what I need.I got these sets mostly for the size 10 brush. It is quite large and other manufacturers probably would size this more as a 12, or maybe even a little bigger than that.Holds lot of water.I was hoping for better points and stronger snapping back into shape.I will still use these in my travel kit. They are useful. The price is worth it for the big size 10 brush, and the size 4's had a nice sharp tip.The size 6's were sloppy, split and with loose hairs. Not snapping back to a neat point.I probably won't use those much. However, despite the fact that two out of three sets were subpar, I would still very much recommend da Vinci brushes, just not necessarily buying them at Amazon.I am wondering if some of the damage happened in handling outside of the manufacturer's control.I think very highly of da' Vinci brushes, and would not dissuade anyone from buying them.I don't know if it's just a fluke that two out of three sets were subpar, (the size fours were everything one would reasonably expect in a kolinsky travel brush)I have had so many defective things in my orders from Amazon.I'm losing confidence in Amazin's ability to deliver undamaged, non-defective goods.
