Quite a simple item, but very useful. My daughter has been finding this helpful for her painting as she is doing GCSE art, and it will also be useful for me with my wool craft in helping me choose colour palettes that actually look nice (something I'm not so good at yet!).One side of the wheel helps with the mixing of colours, showing you what colours result from adding red, yellow, blue, white or black. The other helps with choosing colour combinations that work well together in a variety of ways such as complimentary, split complimentary, triad and tetrad. There is also a surprising amount of information about colour theory on each side of the wheel, and instructions for use of the colour wheel. The colour wheel is made of card, so you will have to be careful not to bend it or damage it over time if you keep it in your craft bag for example. Having said that, it seems reasonably durable. The two pieces slide against each other smoothly, making it easy to use.

An excellent little tool for students of colour theory. Very useful for visualisation in the music lesson. Great price, well designed. Perfect

This is a basic and inexpensive tool for artists who need some guidance when it comes to colours. One side of the wheel deals with composites, i.e., what happens when I add this colour to that colour. The other side deals with complements, i.e., which colours goes well with that colour? At only 13cm in diameter, it's not a big colour wheel - hence the writing might be a bit small for some people, especially those who need reading glasses. If they made a larger wheel for workshop/home usage, that would be amazing.

If you are buding artist? Or maybe you've been drawing and painting for many years? Then a colour mixing wheel like this one from Daler-Rowney is a great addition to your kit.The wheel is around 13cm across and made of a flexible plastic. It is clearly printed but with quite small text on some parts. There are set of instructions that accompany the wheel giving guidance on its use. Overall it is fairly easy to use and can be really handy when colour mixing.A useful addition to your tool box. However it isn't cheap for what it is.
