I really appreciate this kind of book, that is able to elaborate on complex topics without loosing the reader presenting only technical aspects of if. I recommend Data Science for Business to every person working in the Business Analysis area or with any Data-oriented area.

Detailed information on business related problems and how to solve them. It gives an overview of basic machine learning algorithms and how to use them. Good problem solving ideas like why should credit card companies look at people who are most likely to leave and instead why not calculate people who are more likely to leave and cause more damage, when to calculate lift or leverage, etc. In a nutshell, it gives an overview of applying data science techniques to real world problems as the name suggests.

Peut-être le livre le plus intéressant que j'ai pu lire sur le machine learning. Livre non destiné au débutants, car si vous ne maîtrisez pas déjà le sujet, vous n'en tirerez pas grand chose, mais si vous avez déjà une certaine expérience sur le sujet, il vous fera comprendre pas mal de subtilités habituellement jamais évoquées.

This book has become invaluable to me and my company. We refer to it as 'the bible'.Has amazing coverage of topics, is very clear and thorough, and most importantly offers very inspiring and helpful examples of how various data science techniques can be applied that is not easy to find in any other book. The book also has great discussions on the field of data science in business and how to structure/manage data science teams.

I found this book great to refresh some key concepts after being away for the field for many years.The contents are good, well organised and they cover most of what you need to know.The approach is not theoretical but practical and to the point.The examples are also good as it is the level of detail.And you have enough references to go deeper if you need.Great job, I would love to have a second book to go deeper.

It gives a good overview on Data Science and what I call "Machine Learning". Sometimes a bit technical but this it what it takes if you want to get into Data Science.

I'm a manager of a marketing data-analytics team in the financial sector. I have some baggage on statistics, but definitely not on the typical big data techniques. This book allowed me to get a good overview of the existing techniques. It's easy to read when you have some analytical expertise, but it's definitely not technical. If you want to apply big data science and are looking for algorithms etc, then this book is not for you. If you want to be able to join in on conversations with data scientists, understand the benefits and problems with the techniques they're using, challenge their project methodologies or results, then this book is for you.

War ein Geschenk, der beschenkten Person gefiel es sehr gut. Scheinbar wird das relevante Wissen auf dem Gebiet anschaulich und frisch dargestellt. Es geht wohl nicht so sehr in die Materie wie andere Bücher auf dem Gebiet, aber wenn man das beim Kauf weiß und sich drauf einlässt, erhält man ein sehr gutes Buch.

Mein Einführungsbuch für Data Science. War sehr gut! Ich habe viel gelernt! Nachhinein sehe ich: Das Buch deckt die meisten Themen ab.
