I wanted a MPPT boost charger as I found out with the aid of a portable solar panel it's possible to charge my e bike battery, this fitted the bill as it goes up to 72v my battery is just 48v but needs to be charged to 54v, so I needed a MPPT that can be manually set to achieve that voltage.Out of the box this looks the part, so I connected it all up to my solar panel and the led panel started showing the info, it's set default at 48v so I needed to up that to 54v as that's the cut off for the mains charger, but when I tried pressing the buttons the top +button started to refuse to click only the -button worked, this made things a little difficult, either button needs to be held down between 3 and 5 seconds to scroll the through the set voltages and after 72v it will enter USE which is the mode to set the voltage manually, once in USE mode every time I tried to set the voltage it just went back through the set voltages, so in the end I decided to send it back mainly because of the none working button.I did however order a replacement thinking I was just unlucky with the first one, when the second one arrived the first thing I did was check the buttons worked and they did, so connected it all up to the solar panel and like the first one every thing lit up and started working, I pressed the button to get into the set mode but just like the first one I had problems, I tried all different combinations of pressing buttons but still once I entered the USE mode it would just keep going back to the beginning, during this period and not that far into pressing buttons the top button failed again, it would not click like the bottom button, I could get it to click by angling my thumb but it was very difficult, much easier to use a blunt object to make it work.I think the problem with the buttons is the top micro switch is not secured very well inside the unit so when it's pressed what ever it's fixed to can move inwards making it hard to operate, I sent this one back as well for a refund because for the price I want buttons that work, the manual setting might just be down to me but as I had problems there as well, it's just not for me.
