Firstly I was a bit surprised to find several music recorded files on my mini recorder when I hooked it up to my computer to set the time. It appears to have been returned but maybe they all have numerous Celine Dion sound tracks on them when received? I must look at other reviews. Having checked other reviews I am certain now that this recorder must have been returned. It seems fine though, I noticed some scratches on the surface when I received it as well.It comes nicely protected and has a selection of cables and ear buds so is very well equipped. I have recorded concersation with it and it seems to have picked it up well and quite loudly. I will continue my experimentation. The music which was already recorded on it sounds really good, as a mini music hard drive it works remarkably well.It was easy to set the correct time and to alter it to work in voice activated mode.I have been using it to record sound around the house, it records voices quite clearly and I tried playing a brass instrument to see what it would make of the loud noise. Was a bit of a disaster really, very distorted. Either that or it is so good it picks up every single blemish in my playing and I don't play anything like as well as I think! My phone records better.I am very happy with it and its small size means it is great to have in a pocket.The one thing I did find was the USB cables provided for attaching to the computer did not work. I had to use one of my own USB A to USB C cables.

This device is tiny. 40mm square and 7mm thick. It is also quite solid and the interface is well designed with an on/off switch, USBC and two small holes that I assume are the microphone.You get a lot in the box such as a set of earbud phones, a USBC charge cable, two adapters one of which is IOS lightning and a lanyard.The phones have an inline play interface which works OK.The manual is refreshingly easy to read as it does not use the standard tiny font as used in other small gadgets.It's function is touted as a dictation machine and for that works well. The sound quality is not too bad.It warns in the instructions that it is not to be used as a surveillance or spying device as it is against the law if you do not inform others close to the device, but I cannot help feel that it will be used as this anyway by some as it is so small and discrete.You can have the same function from any phone but then a phone is much bigger than this.Good wee device that is well designed and decent value.

I ordered this without much knowledge of using such items so I’m writing this as a non-expert.Firstly, there are a lot of accessories that come with this little recorder - cable and adapters, a controller and a nice little keyring dongle to attach to the recorder given it is so small!The instructions for using are quite clear. Once switched on, the lights flash and then it’s ready to go.On such a small item, there are various ways of listening back to the recording. I didn’t want to download yet another app so I listened back to the recording two other ways: by plugging in the really helpful controller and then using my own wired earphones to listen to the recording, and connecting the recorder to my laptop and finding the file that way.It was really easy to listen back to the recordings using the controller and the sound was excellent. Plugging the recorder into my laptop was also very easy - the device showed up straight away and I was able to navigate as usual to the recordings through file explorer. The sound wasn't quite as clear but still perfectly fine.I plan to use this for recording work meetings (with permission of course) because it is incredibly small and portable. I am not sure it will cope well being thrown into the bottom of a bag or rucksack so I think I’ll need to take care with it - it doesn’t seem tough.Recommended.

The recorder works well and the microphone picks up sound really well even when I tested it in my trouser pocket. It's lightweight and is similar in size and shape to an after eight mint. I've made some fairly lengthy test recordings with it and haven't yet had to charge it up, so the battery life is pretty good I would say. It's small enough to hide in a pocket. I would recommend the device for if you need to covertly record something.
