If your pool robot dies, just get this replacement. This is less than half of the cost of replacing the entire robot, and it will fix any problem you are having. It is very easy to swap out.

The first motor we received did not work, apparently a common issue with these. I contacted the seller and talked about a replacement. I got a replacement sent out and returned the motor that was not working. The motor came in and worked as it should. Had they not been so communicative I would have given less. I don’t mind waiting for working product which they can provide.

Installation was easy enough. So far, the motor unit has functioned well. It is functioning better than it had for the previous year which I could only appreciate after the replacement. FYI, I replaced the unit about a month ago. Hoping it lasts.

I'm changing my review to 4 stars as Maytronics has now agreed to repair the unit.When I purchased this item I was excited to get my Dolphin pool cleaner operational once again. The replacement was effortless; however, issues stared once I connected online to the Maytronics server. The software app initially seem to work great, allowing me to schedule the cleaning when I wanted. However, after about a week the software changed to an older version only allowing the controller to set the cleaning schedule, not the app. I lived with this for a year, and the pool cleaner was doing what it was supposed to, then less than two months after the 12 month warranty expired it stopped working altogether, simikar to my first pool cleaner. I contacted Maytronics customer support team, only to receive the brush off saying the warranty had expired. Not only was I disappointed with Maytronics customer support and decision making, about not even attempting to find and fix the issue, but also on the longevity of the part. I can't help but feel that that their WIFI system deliberately stopped my unit. It sounds like a conspiracy theory, but a similar thing happened with my first cleaner. It would be interesting to see if anyone else has had similar issue. For now I'm going to stay clear of Maytronics.
