Resistor worked good for almost a year than started loosing speeds again. Butt connectors are 1 size to large

Worked perfect for 2004 Dodge Stratus...I had to get the whole kit because the resistor and the connetor piece melted together and it was impossible to pull apart. I had to cut the wires and splice in a new connector. The hardest part of the install was working in a very confined space under the passenger side glove box stripping the wires. The kit does come with connectors. Tools needed: screwdriver, wire cutters/stripper, and crimping tool. Also, the new resistor is slightly larger than the original, so you do need something to make the hole where it is mounted into a little bigger (I used a Dremel tool and that worked very well....took about 10 seconds to make the hole bigger). On a scale of 1-10 on difficulty, I would give it a 3 only because it was hard to work in such a confined space. Also there are plenty of you tube videos showing how to do this repair.

FANTASTIC! Incredibly easy to rewire and put back into place. Here's why: I am a fairly mechanically inclined female that is not afraid to do my own work if it will save me money.The AC/heat in my daughter's car would not work unless it was on 4. After researching the issue, I called around a few auto stores near me and the cost of what they were asking was double and sometimes triple the cost of what I paid here. There is plenty length of wiring attached so when you have to splice you won't be left short - if done correctly in the first place. The directions that come with this are very limited in explaining what to do but it is so easy you won't need them anyway.I took a photo of the original so I knew exactly what wire was what. I do this all the time just in case i the original gets lost- I have something to go by. The entire project took me less that 30 minutes! The hardest part I had to deal with was squeezing under the dash to take out the original piece. Before you start just make a real quick paper diagram of the size you may need to cut out under the dash to make the piece fit. You can do this with a small saw blade or a good box cutter.So for only a few dollars and minutes of my time, 2 screws & some electrical tape, my daughter and granddaughter are ready once more for the winter in New England!
