I added the Draper 36954 33mm combination spanner to my tool collection to help with a few larger fittings on garden equipment and bikes, and it’s been an excellent buy. Draper is a brand I’ve trusted for years, and this spanner absolutely lives up to their reputation for solid, dependable tools.First impressions out of the packaging — this spanner is hefty and feels like a proper professional-grade tool. The blue finish is smart and makes it stand out in the toolbox, which is a small but welcome bonus when you’re digging around for the right size.The open-ended side has been machined cleanly with no rough edges or casting imperfections. It grips firmly onto nuts and bolts without slipping, even when a fair bit of torque is applied. I’ve used it on rusted fixings that haven’t been touched in years, and it’s done the job perfectly.The ring end is also well-designed — no slack or give when engaged, and it offers a good snug fit on standard 33mm fittings. It’s angled just right to give you a bit of flexibility in tighter spaces, and it hasn’t rounded off or slipped once. It feels reliable every time you use it, which is exactly what you want from a hand tool like this.The spanner’s steel has been treated and finished to resist corrosion — I’ve used it in damp conditions and left it in the shed overnight without any signs of rust or wear. This kind of resilience is exactly why I keep coming back to Draper tools.It’s a fairly large spanner, so not something you’d use every day unless you work with machinery, large fittings or heavy equipment — but when you do need it, it’s invaluable. The weight and balance are excellent, and the handle gives you enough length for proper leverage without feeling unwieldy.If I had one small suggestion, it’s that Draper could consider adding a hanging hole for wall storage — but that’s me being picky.In summary, this is a proper bit of kit — strong, durable, and up to any job that calls for a 33mm spanner. If you’re a mechanic, gardener, or just like to be prepared for big jobs, I’d highly recommend it. Brilliant tool.
