Der Router funktioniert bei seit mehr als zwei Jahren problemlos. Hat sich nie aufgehängt, schnell, zuverlässiges VPN, stabile Firmware, unzählige Einstellungsmöglichkeiten, Jugendschutzfilter etc.Haupteigenschaften für die Anschaffung damals waren Geschwindigkeit (VDSL 100) und Failover (LTE Stick). Beides hat immer tadellos funktioniert, Umschaltung auf LTE innerhalb von Sekunden. VDSL mit 99% der möglichen Geschwindigkeit.

VDSL Verbindung bricht bei elektromagnetischer Beeinflussung ab. 100 W Sendeleistung, 2-Element Beam, 7 MHz. Abstand Antenne Router: 20 m.Ferritkerne an Stromversorgung und VDSL-Anschluss haben nicht geholfen.LANCOM Router an gleicher Stelle macht keine Proleme.

I bought this partially as a home router following an upgrade to VDSL and wanting more control than the ISP-supplied router, but also as a cheap enough device to experiment with "proper" routing and IPv6 thanks to it's support for tunnelling with Hurricane Electric.Out of the box it does everything you'd need for home/small office. Quick an easy to set up it's almost plug-and-forget. But that's boring.I currently have VLANs for running for guest Wifi and internal internal test networks so I can play with things without disturbing iPlayer for kids & missus, some experimental stuff for IPv6, inbound VPN from when I'm working away and now looking at AWS site-to-site VPN just because I (probably) can.I've found some interesting issues with 2nd WAN and IPv6 (currently very broken, not sure if me or beta firmware) and have found Draytek support to be very helpful once they'd accepted I had some clue what I was talking about. (you owe me beer guys!). It's worth keeping the firmware up to date but this is a simple enough procedure, and if it all goes TITSUP there's a recovery mode that works (proven it twice - in the interests of science of course...) although it's worth downloading the instructions and utilities first.Very highly recommended, I'm had this for 18 months and am still discovering capabilities which proves it's also great for geek education too. I wonder if that makes it a tax deductible purchase?Update: Killed mid 2020 by a lighting strike on a nearby tree that also fried routers in other houses around here. Replaced with the new-and-improved 2862. And an APC surge protector since BT removed that feature on VDSL connections since it reduces line speed. Helpful of them really.

Awesome bit of kit. If you are looking at this, then you know what you are buying, but just in case... this is a router firewall for VDSL with the ability to connect to other modems via ethernet or USB and load balance across them. This version doesn't have Wifi.I've only got it set up with basics (there are so many things it can do if you want it to...). The network is split by MAC addresses (easy to do) so that people can only do things I want them to, the basic incoming firewall stuff is on. The VPN works very well, and doesn't stop other systems making their own VPN connections through it. I think you need a bit more time, inclination and knowledge to set up all the firewall bits should you wish, more so than more consumer items. DrayTek customer support is great. Once the little people at home are older I intend to run the internet blocking software from DrayTek to provide a really robust firewall filter to prevent them looking at stuff they shouldn't be.However I bought it because I wanted a rock solid VDSL connection, and that's what I've got. Admittedly I've got an I-plate on the master socket, and this is connected to UPS power, but it hasn't fallen over since I've put it on (other than 2 the BT network failures after the street cabinets were knocked out). Faster than the ISP supplied unit, and I've got 2-3 users on PCs at any one time, multiple phones (including IP), internet radio / music streaming all day long, and Netflix all evening. It hasn't missed a beat. The previous ISP unit needed restarting every 2 months, and I got regular complaints about the internet speed / failing from the family. Yes this (with a Ubiquity wireless access point) are a sledgehammer of a network solution, but for not a lot of money you've got a fit and forget rock solid system able to take anything a busy household can throw at it.Wish I'd done it sooner.

Session Based Load Balancing - AwesomeMy family are a bit greedy with the bandwidth. We had 20 Mbs VDSL and this wasn't enough so I ordered a second BT infinity line. I was planning to get a specialist company to glue the lines together by line bonding. It is otherwise possible to load balance without bonding, in this way, many routers can balance traffic sent down each line but each session cannot be split over both lines. This standard method of load balancing improves efficiency but does not increase or add line speed. Draytek have something called 'session based' load balancing which does split traffic across the lines and the speed of the two lines becomes additive. The only downside I can see is you have to setup a route policy for https addresses to force them down one line so that online banking works (a minor exercise for which there are instructions on the Draytek website). This works to double connection speed without paying for line bonding - its awesome there is not much info on the web on this and some scepticism but it works perfectly.I pumb one VDSL line into this router and the second into a Draytek Vigor 130 modem with plugs into WAN2 of this router with ethernet. The advantage of using a Draytec modem is the line speed of WAN2 appears in this router removing the need to ever log into the modem.The setup is rock solid and actually relatively simple to set-up

Zunächst: Der Router ist nix für Leute, die sich schon bei einer Fritzbox nachdenklich den Bart kratzen müssen...Für kleine Hotels, Pensionen, Wohngemeinschaften, Büros (als VPN-Maschine) usw. ist dieser Router vermutlich eine gute Empfehlung, da er alle wichtigen Funktionen beherrscht. Das LoadBalancing an zwei Internetanschlüssen (bei mir Kabel200 und VDSL-100) klappt mit der aktuellen englischen (!) Firmware sogar auf Sessionbasis - das ist in dieser Preisklasse nicht selbstverständlich.Trotzdem muss man zwei Sachen anmerken. Der NAT-Durchsatz wird auf diversen Datasheets im Internet mit 300Mbit/s angegeben, die schafft er aber nicht. Auch die von Amazon in der Produktbeschreibung schon etwas nebulös angegebenen vorsorglich abgespeckten 200MBit/s werden nicht erreicht. In der Praxis kommen ca. 150-160Mbit/s hinter der NAT an. Das ist für viele Internetanschlüsse noch mehr als genug, man muss es nur wissen, wenn man beabsichtigt, ihn hinter einen fetten Kabel- und/oder VDSL-Anschluss zu hängen, denn dann guckt man doch etwas betröppelt, wenn man merkt, was "hinten" raus kommt.Und zweitens ist es mir nicht gelungen, einen Voip-Anschluss (VDSL-100) der Telekom auf einer dahinter gehängten Fritzbox 7390 zum Laufen zu bekommen. Und ich habe weiß Gott alle möglichen Ports weitergeleitet, RoutePolicies eingerichtet, per Telnet noch eine Sonderbehandlung freigeschaltet usw. usw., alles was das Internet an schlauen Ratschlägen (Die Unterstützung der Community ist gut) so bereithielt. Wenn Voip also wichtig ist, dann lieber eine 2860v Variante kaufen, das haut wohl hin. Aber Achtung, die V-Varianten haben keinen S0-Anschluss, können also kein ISDN.Ohne Telefon kann man leben, es ist aber nicht sinnvoll... Also ging der Vigor 2860 leider zurück, was mir wirklich leid tut, denn das, wofür er eigentlich gemacht ist (LoadBalancing, VPN, VLAN usw.) beherrscht er sehr gut. Mit dem Aufkommen immer schnellerer Kabelanschlüsse am besten kombiniert mit VDSL- oder Glasfaseranschlüssen wird ihm aber die Puste ausgehen - das muss man mit Blick in die Zukunft berücksichtigen.

I wont repeat what has been said in the positive reviews as this is clearly a competent router with masses of functionality, and I'd probably buy it again. However I think there are few major issues worth pointing out:- There are masses of settings and the interface is not particularly intuitive. Its targetted at small businesses but I'd be surprised if people can set this up to make use of any of the additional functionality without using an IT specialist or the helpdesk, more on which later.- The user interface can be downright unfriendly. If you're doing any kind of longish job such as setting up a number of reserved IPs ("Bind IP to MAC" in vigor parlence), it will time out at some point without telling you, and when you finally hit "ok" you'll loose everything you've done. I set mine up 3 times and I only had 7 to do. Converserly, as mentioned elsewhere, it decides when it reboots after changing some settings and there's no option to delay it until later.- The quick start guide is hopelessly short and only covers setting up the WAN side. However the Draytek arrives by default with DHCP turned on, so if you do that after adding it to an existing LAN you'll obviously end up with 2 DHCP servers running which wont work. There's no mention of how to set up the LANs in it, and its not that straightforward: it took the helpdesk nearly an hour to sort mine out.- telephone support only runs 9-5.30 5 days a week and charges 5p/min + telco access charge. However, it will only help you with connectivity (clearly its not just me that finds it hard to get set up.) For anything else, incl "network planning", you need Premium Telephone Support at 78p+ telco access (still only 9-5.30 though!) This is provided by a 3rd party and comes with a raft of T&C and warnings. I didnt try it.- I also didnt try email support, mainly because I saw a few reviewer comment that they didn't receive a reply from it.- Alternatively you could read the full user guide. Alt 899 pages you might expect this to be more helpful but unfortunately it does not go much further than a line by line description of each setting, without much in the way of overview or typical example setups, etc (example: "To choose PPPoE as the accessing protocol of the Internet, please select PPPoE from theWAN>>Internet Access >>WAN1 page." At least the quickstart tells you when to use PPPoE.On the plus side the non-premium helpdesk was very helpful and knowledgeable, and went a little beyond the advertised scope. Overall however Id say its a 5* product for functionality but drops 2 for quality of documentation and user support, which has to be near the bottom of the industry and probably makes the product unusable for much of its target audience without purchasing additional help.

Alles was man wirklich braucht+ Volle 50 MBit auch im speedtest gehalten+ Integration in wirkliches Netzwerk (z.B. Vlans, Radius, Syslog, Mail-alert)+ Remote-Zugang+ optimales Verhalten mit Voip-Telefonen+ Firewall und Sicherheit ohne Ende+ TemperaturüberwachungNicht nur von allem ein bisschen wie bei den diversen All-in-one-Geräten, sondern richtig.Aber: Man muss wissen was man tut. Meine Konfiguration wird nie ganz fertig sein.

Dieser Router überzeugt auf ganzer Linie. Die Funktionalität erschlägt einen förmlich und als FritzBox-gewohnter Nutzer macht es Sinn, erst einmal die Anleitung zu studieren. Die einzelnen Menüpunkte sind sauber aufgeräumt, aber anders benannt als in üblichen Consumer-Routern, so dass man teils etwas hilflos sucht bis man sich an die neue Oberfläche gewöhnt hat. Letztendlich bekommt man ein äußerst stabil laufendes Gerät mit hervorragender Firmware. Mit einem separat erhältlichen Rahmen kann man den Router sogar sehr einfach in ein 19" Rack bauen!Besonders beeindruckt hat mich der Service von Draytek. Anfragen per Mail werden teils nach wenigen Minuten persönlich beantwortet. Bei einer Anfrage hatte ich fast den Eindruck, es wäre ein Chat, so schnell kamen die Antworten. Hieran kann sich so manche Firma ein Beispiel nehmen!Zusammenfassen bereue ich den Kauf keine Sekunde und würde das Gerät jedem erfahreneren Nutzer uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Anfänger im Bereich der Netzwerktechnik könnten schnell überfordert sein, das Gerät bietet einfach sehr viele Funktionen. Zudem ist es hilfreich, sich auch in englischen Foren zurecht zu finden.

Sehr komplexer Router mit unzähligen Möglichkeiten an Subnetzen und Sicherheitseinstellungen, wie zB Kinderschutz.Würde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen!Meiner bringt 48500kbit/s an der 50000er Leitung - sollte reichen.

A really good piece of kit, has all the bells and whistles you need for an office environment. It has a large NAT capability so handles 200+ devices chattering away without any problem. Transition between ADSL and VDSL just worked when we had the line converted to a FTTC connection. It gets a severe beating every day with the demands made of it with a combination of mobile devices, desktops, cameras all requiring NAT to get out on a single IP address. It has never hung up once!An annoying thing is that some configuration settings require it to be re-booted and you don't know that until you've made the changes and then there is no option to day OK I'll come back to that later. If you have several changes then sometimes each one can result in a re-boot. Configuration changes therefore have to be done out of hours. It is however quick to re-boot, the OS is back up and singing in about 10 seconds. The ADSL/VDSL just takes as long as it needs to train and sync just like any other bit of kit., so you can be offline for a couple of minutes.Done some testing with the IPV6 capability but not run it in anger until we swap our ISP to one that offers IPV6. What I have seen so far looks good, but until we run it in anger I can't comment further on the IPV6 side of it.Overall a very reliable and flexible bit of kit for the price and handles a tough busy configuration without a murmur. If you are the one responsible for Internet connections in your company or home stuffed stuffed full of gadgets, just go for it as it won't let you down.

Abseits der üblichen Fritzboxteile, die grundsätzlich nicht schlecht sind, bekommt man hier einen Router, der mit eingebautem Modem bis VDSL2 und zusätzlichen WAN Interface für einen weiteren Anschluss auch mit Backleitung oder Load-Balancing betrieben werden kann. Nimmt man ein LTE Modem per USB dazu sind es sogar 3 WAN Anschlüsse.Eine Firewall, jede Menge VPN Funktionen sind ebenfalls integriert.Die Performance ist sehr gut, der Firewalldurchsatz wird bei mir bei einer 50MBit. Leitung nicht eingebremst, also auch TOP.Alles in allem eine klare Empfehlung wenn man netzwerkseitig etwas mehr einstellen will als bei den Standard Routern

Das eingebaute Modem bringt bei mir (VDSL 50000) nur eine Datenrate von 39000 kbit/s. Zum Vrgleich: Eine Fritz Box 7490 alleine 42000 kbit/s und mit vorgeschaltetem Zyxel-Modem 45000 kbit/s.
