We are happy to be using these compostable palm leaf plates for our outdoor wedding reception. Unlike some other reviewers, ours arrived in good shape, no bugs, no mold. They are definitely a cut above paper plates. We are going to take these and all our other compostables to a professional high heat composting facility. I am not sure if these are able to be composted in green bins with backyard clippings or not.

These look nice and stand up to sauce heavy meals much better than other compostable plates. Every once in a while plate will have a small crack in it near the edges, but overall I like these plates. They are thick and take up more storage room than I anticipated, but the bulk price was so much better. They also make good kindling after use.

Loved the idea of these plates, but the actual product didn't quite measure up. The plates were quite sturdy, and held up pretty well for a quick microwave cook, a small amount of moisture did come through so a long cook might not hold up as well. The manufacturing seems to have caused each of them to be slightly warped or unique, so that, when stacked, the 100 plates was almost 2 feet high taking up more storage space in my pantry than necessary. The manufacturing also seemed to leave some de-laminated and frayed edges, even picked up a small splinter from one of the frayed edges. Finally, there is was a noticeable decaying vegetation smell, not completely unpleasant on its own, reminded me of a damp forest, but did negatively affect the food smells. I hope they work to improve the process so they're better in the future.
