This is likely NOT what you need to buy if you are looking at this item.There doesnt appear to be an FTDI chip in here (at least the Micro USB-B to RS232 one I am reviewing).. The other review saying it connected to a laptop seems wrong as this cable has a Micro B end on it which wont go in any laptop Ive ever seen directly. (I did use an adapter to try it but as expected it wasn't detected)Pin's 2 and 3 in the DB9 end are directly connected to 2 of the pins in the Micro B end.. ( I checked this after it didn't work as expected - its not detected by the PC as it is not a USB device at all) which doesnt happen with any FTDI adapter I've ever seen.I think this is actually for a very specific device which has an actual serial port on it, but using a Micro B interface, but is NOT USB.This is not a device like described (the description even shows an FTDI USB232 Chip), which converts USB to 232 serial, and therefore is UNLIKELY to be what you actually require, and doesnt do what the description of this item says.I didn't give it 1 star as if you DO need this specific cable, the cable itself is well made and of decent quality, but I don't believe this actually is what it says it is. (Note I have now verified this by looking inside, this is definitly directly wired to the pins)

Ich habe den Elecbee Mini USB zu RS232 Seriell Adapter als Produkttest erhalten, meine Bewertung ist unbeeinflusst.Der "Elecbee Mini USB zu RS232 Seriell Adapter" kam in einer wiederverschließbaren Klarsichttüte bei mir an. Das mini USB auf RS232 Kabel sieht aus meiner Sicht, einfach aus und fasst sich flexible an. Material, sowie Verarbeitungsmängel habe ich keine erkannt. Zur Probe habe ich mit Hilfe eines USB Adapters dieses Kabel mit meinem Computer, sowie mit meiner Telefonanlage verbunden. Es war mir dadurch möglich, meine ältere Telefonanlage zu programmieren. Mit der Funktion bin ich voll zufrieden und empfehle dieses Produkt sehr gerne weiter.Zusammenfassung:Material ist top.Verarbeitung ist top.Funktion ist top.
