This is a complete replacement kit for a failed pump, a task which I assume it will perform well. However I ordered this pump to be part of a built in fuel polishing system in my sailing boat. It is a task it should perform well.For a variety of reasons including seasonal sailing, a preference for sailing versus motoring, as well as a reluctance to waste my limited cash, diesel stays in my fuel tank longer than it ought to. Fuel polishing means passing fuel through a filter and then back to the tank. The filter will hopefully trap sludge and particles, water and the dreaded and concomitant Cladosporium Resinae (aka diesel bug). By sacrificing polishing filters I hope my engine filters will remain cleaner for longer.In case of doubt, the filter I refer to is not the tiny one included with this kit. I can easily repurpose it into a heater system. Rather, I mean a large centrifugal water separator system with a disposable 10micron paper filter.

This MACHSWON electric fuel pump kit is marketed towards the Cummins powered Onan 5500 petrol generator and has everything in the box that you'll need to swap out old for new. The MACHSWON pump has excellent build quality, it runs smoothly and quietly and has so far proved reliable and trouble free on our installation.Despite this pump being listed for the Onan it really is a universal unit that can be retro fitted onto many other applications. Bearing in mind that the MACHSWON runs at around 4 psi it is going to be fine used on any number of smaller normally aspirated (non-injection) petrol engines fitted with a return to tank system, we know this because we used the MACHSWON as a replacement pump on an older Suzuki AN250 scooter with no issues whatsoever, bearing in mind a new non OE pump for the Suzuki was going to cost over £40 and the MACHSWON sells for just over £17 it just made sense and has also proved to be 100% reliable.A well deserved five out of five stars for this pump, it's reliable, cost effective and very adaptable!
