I have been wanting to run my two pup's DNA for years now, and once Leela (the blonde dog) was diagnosed with leukemia, I knew time was limited.The process was incredibly simple and we got the results before the predicted timeline. And oh boy, there were some surprises!I adopted Leela from a rescue and they had told me her mom was full blooded Blue Heeler, so the catahoula checks out. But every vet I have taken her to has assumed a golden retriever mix. So imagine our surprise when she didn't have any golden DNA! As a side note, I find that supermutt combination to be hilarious. 😂I had met Lilith's parents at the time of adoption. Both were labs, but outside dogs. And obviously the male lab was not, in fact, her father. The drama! 😬 I've had vets in the past ask if she is part Great Dane due to her size (almost 100 pounds when she was younger) and her facial features. So that was a shock, too!Overall, I'm very happy I got them both tested. With Leela, it does raise some questions since goldens tend to have more incidence rates of leukemia than other dog populations, and she doesn't have any golden DNA. Either way, her vet will be intrigued by these results - almost as much as I was!

Wir haben das Produkt gekauft, um bei unserem Straßenhunde die Rassen zu analysieren. In dem Paket ist ein Rücksendekuvert für die Probe vorhanden. Abgesehen davon, dass man aus Europa den Versand in die USA zahlen muss sollte man vorher das Paket beim Zoll anmelden. Bei uns ist dieses Paket wieder an uns retourniert worden mit der Aufforderung es beim Zoll anzumelden. Das haben wir getan und ein zweites Mal zur Post getragen. Leider ist unsere Probe nie in Amerika angekommen. Ein sehr teurer Spaß für leider nichts.

The process was good, I was always kept up to date with shiny marketing materials and regular updates on where the screening process stands.However the result was totally meaningless and in no way satisfying. The result of having a „100% Western European Village Dog“ is simply a non-result to me, and I have to say that I feel fooled. My objective was to learn about the individual (FCI) breeds in my mix - being suggested a new breed which has been invented / introduced by the Embark company itself instead has no value.Simply not worth the money and very, very disappointing.

I was so impressed with the customer service I received. I received the kit on time and carried out the swab and sent it off. Unfortunately, my swab got stuck enroute and I reached out to Embark who helped me track it and they reached a decision to resend a kit at no cost. Kit arrived in no time and I sent it off. Embark informs you when the swab has arrived, swab extracted, etc. So at every stage you are notified which helps build up the excitement. I won't spoil the rest however the results were very interesting and what surprised me most was the accuracy and rhe detailed breakdown. They also share information of close relatives and the picture of my dog's sibling was a spitting image of her. Forgot to say the only information I provided was my dog's name and swab as I purposely did not share pics or her breed type so it was amazing that through science I was provided with mind blowing results. I definitely recommend this product.

Ich habe das Test kit nicht bei Amazon gekauft sondern bei Embark. Es ist teuer und ich musste 12€ Zoll bei Lieferung zahlen. Rücksendung einfach in den Briefkasten dank Vorfrankierter Tüte für das Teströhrchen.Es ist erstaunlich, was bei meinem Welpen herausgefunden wurde. Ich hatte auf der Registrierseite extra kein Foto eingestellt. Es wurde zu 100% Rassemishung/Fellfarbe/Fellart/ Nasen/ Krallenfarbe ...heraus gefunden. Das zu erwartende Gewicht deckt sich mit meiner Vermutung. Auch das Fressverhalten. Verfressenheit scheint zum Teil auch an den Genen zu liegen. Mein Welpe frisst eher weniger und wurde als Normalfresser identifiziert.Es ist ein sehr umfangreicher Bericht. Ich habe ihn mit genetischen Erkrankungen gemacht.Jede genetisch abgecheckte Erkrankung wurde aufgeführt ,so dass man einen Überblick hat, was untersucht wurde.Auch Inzest wurde untersucht. Man kann einen zusammenfassenden Bericht für den Tierarzt und Züchter runterladen und an diese versenden.Die Embarkseite wird auch in deutsch übersetzt.Ich habe den Speichelabstrich bei einem TA Besuch mitmachen lassen denn 30-60sec. in der Wangentasche ist ziemlich lang.Das Ergebnis kam dann ca. 3 Wochen nach Eintreffen im Labor in den USA.Man wird über alle Wege des Test kid` s informiert.Der Test ist meiner Meinung nach sein Geld wert.

Dieser Artikel kann nur innerhalb der USA mit dem Paketaufkleber zurück geschickt werden. Macht man es aus Europa sind 50 € Versand nötig...das steht nicht beim Verkauf dabei...kann ich NICHT weiter empfehlen

Skickade iväg testet och de tappades bort så helt kostnadsfritt skickade embark ett nytt sample åt mig. Smidigt och så snabbt som de bara kunde gå
