Felt sturdy but arrived with the gate/latch bent to where it wouldn’t shut. I’m sure if I got a functioning unit the rest of the build quality would be great.

After doing a little research and shopping, I decided to buy this basket from Everdure. Finally, I decided to roast coffee myself. The reviews of others who have roasted coffee with this basket were very helpful, and I’m glad I made the decision to purchase it. Although it came a little bit bent, I managed to ease it back into position and everything worked fine.I have since roasted coffee and have been completely amazed. Once you get down time, temperature, etc. Now, I also plan to also roast barley malt for a specialty all grain brewing, and I’m very excited.Take a look at the reviews and decide for yourself, but I for one I’m very happy with this purchase.

Overall it is a good product, but the closure latch is a little funky. You need to make sure that it is completely engaged before using it. The closure could be more robust.

This rotisserie basket is almost perfect for roasting coffee so I can imagine how great it would be for vegetables. The drum heats evenly if rotated properly and I get a very even roast with it.The only drawback is that it opens in half which is almost too big of an opening to dump the coffee into the bean cooler. Not a big deal though.EDIT: The biggest issue I have with this is the poor quality of the latch. The issue is that the nut on the bolt holding the hinge often comes loose after reappeared heavy use and it will fall apart. You have to check it once in a while to ensure the nut is tight.The latch is solid but it takes some getting used to.Overall I am very happy with the unit. Their customer support is amazing as well so if you have any questions or issues, just let them know.

Having bought into the Everdure by Heston Blumenthal (EHB) systems (4K, Fusion and preparation unit), I bought the tumbler (to re-create the prawn & tomato panzanella dish on his YouTube).Sourced all the ingredients and then saw how the video is only a list of ingredients and a sequence, not really a recipe. OK, I thought, I will give it my best attempt.Can you imagine my annoyance and frustration? On the very first use, I opened and closed the tumbler for the bread. Again for the tomatoes. Opened for some amazing prawns and BANG when I tried to close to cook!I cannot decide if this is sub-standard design or sub-standard manufacturing. The clip detached, firing the bolt and spring into the fire bed. Even after trying to remove these parts from the fire, there was no way to fix the clip. Cooking stops! I could have let the tumbler turn, but then everything is in the charcoals. So frustrating to not eat; to waste very good ingredients; not learn if my timings are successful in re-creating what was shown on YouTube (heavily edited & without timings).As I bought this some time before, my Amazon return window is closed.WHILE I LIKE THE EHB SYSTEM, THIS ITEM SEEMS TO BE A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! AVOID!

Love it, great for roasting larg quantities of coffee and food. However, It's so hard to get it to open and close. Hate it, especially when it's hot to handle.
