I finally got a chance to use this on an old plastic hot plate. But the plastic was the really hard stuff you got back in the 80s and 90s. It would not melt whatsoever. So I glued it on and tried to fortify it with plastic and even some mesh. Nothing would stick - even after roughing it up with sandpaper.Although the project was a complete failure, the welder was a smashing success. The welding staples got red hot. Although the first use was a bit scary. Flames kept coming out of the tip for a few minutes - making me think that maybe there was something wrong. But the flames and the smell disappeared after a few minutes, and it worked quite well after that.My only complaint is that the power cord is a bit too stiff. I was fighting against the cord to get the gun at whatever angle I wanted. Maybe it will soften up with extensive use. But in the meantime, you're struggling against the cord to use it.

This is a huge selection of plastic staples to use in welding plastic, there are far more of them than I need right at the moment so I won't need to purchase any for some time. These plug right into my plastic staple welder and heat up very quickly, they are made from some pretty nice and thick metal that takes a little extra oomph to cut them off once placed into the plastic. Overall they are real nice and if you have the need for extra plastic welding staples this is a good deal for a large amount of 2 different styles of staples.

When I first acquired a plastic welder it came with a variety of staples purportedly to make different types of welds or joinery techniques. However, in the end the staples I found myself using far more than the others were shaped like these staples - sort of an “M” shape. They work great for sealing large and small cracks in plastic. Thus when it was time to replenish I ordered this set. I think I can do pretty much any kind of weld that I will need to make with this shape. I am really not so nuanced in my plastic welding as to fully appreciate the difference between the finer and thicker wires so I kind of regard this as a set of 1200 staples, rather than 600 + 600. Nonetheless, having an ample supply is nice so I do not feel like I need to ration the staples or pick and chose which projects are staple worthy. They fit my off brand plastic staple gun and they work great. They heat up almost instantly when the trigger is pulled and melt into to repair with no effort. And the price is great.

I do a lot of plastic welding and plastic stapling, and these wavy style staples are the type that I use the most of. It's nice to be able to just buy replacements of these instead of having to buy multipacks that include staple types that I don't use many of. These are good quality staples and they come in a nice storage case that is worth a few dollars all by itself.Hundreds of wavy staples in a decent plastic storage case is a great value for under $20. These are good quality staples that are a standard size that fits pretty much any hot stapler. I'd gladly purchase these again when the time comes for more replacements.

These replacement plastic welding wires worked as well as the originals ones that came with the plastic welding kit. They heat up and glow within seconds and cool almost instantly.
