The book is very good but it is more on the technical site. It would have been great if it was a little bigger in size. If you consider buying it as a gift be wary since it may not be well received (due to too much technical info).

As someone who loves fashion, I recommend this book to any fashion lover. It has so much interesting topics. Great value for money too.

My friend is a professional seamstress in the movie industry and I found this book at her house. She loves it’s usefulness, and as someone who shops for vintage clothing through EBay and Etsy, I found this book great for learning terminology and then being able to apply that to my targeted clothing searches. Also, just interesting to read and learn. This is a visual reference, so no dense text. Enjoyable to read and peruse.

The chapters cover a wide range of topics that are useful for industry people, those wanting to make their own clothing and students alike. Almost everything is illustrated with drawings, diagrams, flow charts, and tables that allow for a broad understanding at a glance. The book is not text dense but has enough to explain the visuals. I bought it initially to help with my research on textile fibers and fabric manufacture and those chapters are very useful for that purpose. It's a great reference book.
