The Febi Bilstein 46576 Camshaft Timing Chain Kit, was provided in good time.This kit is a genuine Febi Bilstein kit, see below details.A couple of points worth mentioning in this review to help others, not everyone knows the below and might be venturing into car maintainance themselves for the first time, be inexperienced; or are just unaware.Not intended to be a lecture.Many looking to buy a camshaft timing chain kit, will likely know how important the main kit components are, being the chain; and the hydraulic tensioner.You can buy alternative makes or brands, some of which are so cheap as to be very suspect, and have high failure rates or are known to be very poor quality, take a look at web search engine results on this, and or vehicle repair forum advise.Given that if your chain or the tensioner fails, it will in all likelyhood destroy or severly damage your engine thus costing severe amounts of money to repair, my personal approach here that I would highly recommend to those tempted to buy very cheap replacement kits is don't.I wouldn't touch with a forty foot pole that someone else owns, something priced £40 that normally cost at least £120 on average, you get what you pay for.Why is this kit different?Febi Bilstein, are an OEM VW and other vehicle parts manufaturer, many parts on your car from the factory will be from the Febi Bilstein brand.I have been in contact directly with Febi Bilstein UK technical on the kit being sold here, after I had concerns that the parts supplied in the box may not have been genuine Febi Bilstein and may have been replacement cheap components as outlined above, I spent more to avoid this obviously.Why did I do this?The main reason, quality brand parts normally have the manufacturer brand and name and or logos moulded into them, these did not; also the Amazon site here, "The Official Febi Bilstein Store" confirmed as mentioned in the below paragraph below is not Febi Bilstein themselves.Some unscrupulous manufacturers or suppliers, can and do copy or conterfeit trusted quality brands and OEM vehicle parts brand logos, and manufactured components, these are the cheap rubbish I advise to avoid, with a quality brand name attached to dupe you, and inflated price as a result.I provided images / photo's of the provided parts to Febi Bilstein UK technical, and confirmed directly that the parts are trustworthy, and authentic.What is shown as supplied in this kit, was actually missing the camshaft seal plastic installation plugs, that are used to center the seals for installation, the camshaft exhaust and intake seals themselves are supplied.Excellent packaging and protection, and a fairly reasonable price considering.
