Was restitching leather seats and hood seams of classic car, these are ideal for dragging needles with tough thread through tight spots in leather and canvass without blistered fingers .

A sturdy set of parallel jaw pliers, they are nice to hold and use for extended periods, they come with a jaw protector for when they are not in use, very pleased with them

The jaws are not perfectly parallel but they do touch at the tips. When the tips are touching, the gap at the throat of the jaws exceeds half-a-millimetre. If the work material is fairly squishy then the gap could be tolerable but if using the pliers to clamp two hard sheet materials (e.g. sheets of metal, wood or acetal) then the gap means that there will be clamping pressure at the jaw tips, and no pressure applied closer to the throat.Having read the reviews of other supposedly parallel pliers it seems that the rear gap is the common state of affairs. I can't decide whether I should consider this to be a defect on the design of the tool or a defect in the description of such tools that leads to expectations that cannot, practically, be achieved. The tool seems to be acceptably well put together; no complaints in that regard. The handles are bare-metal so bare-skin gets less grip than I'd like; a coarse knurled texture would have been helpful. The poor grip was exacerbated by stray, excess, oil on the tool but the oil is actually mentioned in the seller's product description so I certainly got what I paid for in that regard, and the oil can be removed fairly easily.A greater problem for me, and perhaps for other people with larger hands, is that I find the handles to be too short and hence somewhat uncomfortable and awkward; I'd prefer the handles to be 15 to 30 mm longer.Whilst I'm not enamoured with the tool, it has already been useful and therefore I'd rather have this tool with its imperfections, than not have anything like it at all. However I'll also be on the look-out for a similar tool that has handles that are longer and that are easier and more comfortable to grip.
