Solid stainless steel bracket for Garmin transducers. My old plastic bracket would sometimes fall off if I hit a log or some debris either cruising or hitting a log while in very shallow water. The screw heads holding it on actually wore larger gaps in the bracket slots when this occurred. This new steel bracket prevents all that from happening. The only con I noticed is there are no interlocking grooves in the bracket to keep it from coming out of adjustment if the nuts and bolts should become slightly loose. That should be an easy fix for Garmin. They should also offer wire shielding that goes over the the transducer wire that feeds into the transom to keep muskrats from chewing on the wire. I could not install my new transducer until I found an aftermarket shield. All transducer wires should have this protection, especially if the boat is kept in the water.

Been buying Garnin products since the first GPS were available to the public. Garmin never let's me down. I know it is just a bracket but it holds my $300 transducer. I wouldn't trust a plastic mount on this transducer. You never know when you might strike something in the water and break a mount! --Could ruin a good day fishing and leave you looking for a new transducer. This thing is built solid, strong and fit like a charm. No issues mounting, and easy bolt on attachment. Came with all hardware needed, all nice stainless steel bracket and hardware. Super easy install!

I bought this for to replace the plastic transducer mount which I thought would not hold up over time. THe SS mount was nice and sturdy but I replaced the 2 nuts and bolts with 1 shoulder bolt and a nut on the inside of the frame and a nut on the outside of the frame for a sturdy hold and easier adjustment if needed. I didnt think that this splash guard would really work on the new style of transducers considering that I had mine set to skim perfectly in the water but I was getting poor readings and a lot of rooster tails and vertical splashing. So I installed the splash guard and lowered the transducer and I have never seen such a smooth glide of a transducer in the water being set so low and I have no roosster tails and no vertical splash. My reading are solid and I am confident that the stainless steel mount will hold for many years to come. And the price was right, so I am happy.
