this yarn is miserable to use, hard to see when working with it, flat and just shredding apart. I was very excited for this kit but this yarn makes me wanna pull my hair out.Instructions seem simple and easy to understand but hard to tell when I can't even get past making the magic ring.

Very cute pattern but the fullinstructions are not included in this kit. You get part of the head and then you have to go to a video link.

I bought this for my daughter’s birthday who wanted to try out crocheting and this is such an easy way to learn plus very cute

Verdict: It was fun :) It wasn’t hard at all. I think the hardest thing were the feet and they are:(3ch, 3dc, 3sc, 1slst) in magic ring.So if you can do that, this will be a piece of cake :)Stitches/DifficultyChain StitchDouble Crochet*Magic RingSingle CrochetSingle Crochet DecreaseSingle Crochet IncreaseSlip Stitch…and that’s it! It’s just one stitch away from being the easiest set of stitches to learn at once!Instructions:Paper: I don’t think a first timer would be able to figure out how to crochet the platypus from just the paper instructions. Why? Because for one, they don’t teach you how to count a stitch. I already knew the stitches and how to count them (most of the time XD) and so the paper instructions were enough for me. They were clear and I didn’t have any issues with them. They tell you when to put in the stuffing and how to attach the parts.Video: The QR code takes you to a side and then you have to click on the words:“platypus’s crochet method : (sic)”Everything is narrated, the narration appear at the bottom as captions in yellow. The row instructions appear on the top left. The crochet hands are slow and deliberate so you can see what’s going on. I think with this and the paper instructions a first timer will be able to complete this kit. The video doesn’t count the stitches aloud. They don’t show you every single stitch in the project. They skip repeated stitches. Sometimes they say strange things like “circulate crochet”…I think they just mean “work in the round.”Materials:The yarn is really soft and I loved working with it. It’s easy on my wrists, too. It didn’t split and there was plenty left over.>>Tip: If the yarn is splitting, try making a wider circle with your crochet hook when you yarn over. You need to catch the yarn on the stick part of your hook before the hook grabs it.The stitch markers had no flash and opened and closed (and stayed closed) well. The hook included is a slower hook, but it’s got a comfort grip so it’s one of the nicer ones. They’ve included both plastic and metal tapestry needles. Nice! I like the metal ones better. The safety doll eyes come with backs so you don’t have to deal with glue (thank you!). There are even snippers included, but I didn’t use them.What I Different:I changed the colors of the tail and the feet. There was plenty of yarn left to do that. I used my own safety eyes.

The yarn falls apart. It’s very cheap and the hook is junk. The pattern would be very hard to follow for someone just starting to learn how to crochet. But, I bought other yarn from a big chain craft store and will make my own dragon.
