Habe das für ein Cap verwendet, asiatisch, netter als ein Elbsegler. Leider war das Ding zu klein. Nun, der Hutspanner konnte erst greifen, als ich innere Hutband, aus Plastik, zerschnitten habe, insgesamt 3 Schnitte. Bei Größe 57 kann man diesen gar nicht verwenden. Man kann diese Pressbügel gar nicht einfügen.Ab Größe 58 dürfte es gehen. Man kommt schon zurecht damit. Doch dieses Mittel-Metall-Verstellstück bekommt Kratzer, wenn man Zange einsetzt. Doch um eine Zange kommt man kaum herum. Hätte nicht geglaubt, dass ich mal einen Hutspanner habe. Doch ich hab noch andere Schattenhüte, wie von Stetson, wo ich den auch mal ansetzen kann. Er ist schon empfehlenswert, doch nur für relativ größere Hüte, nicht für die Größen 56 oder 57.

I notice that New Era 59Fifty Fitted hats sometimes are not all the same fit, despite having the same the same measurements. I purchased a 7 5/8 hat (60.6cm) hat and it was just a little too tight this time. So, I used this hat stretcher, over 3X 24 hour periods , and now it fits well. I didnt use steam - although apparently, if you steam the headband it works better. I also didnt do do it up too tight, and did it in 3 seperate sessions to gradually stretch the hat to the correct size, taking it out and checking in between sessions to make sure i wasnt over stretching. I think with steam this process might take only 2 sessions. Anyway its worked well, and I am going to try it on some older hats that were too tight

Works really well on various makes of fedora style hats.. wool, straw etc., as long as you gradually increase the stretch.I haven't had to wet or soak any of my hats due to patience and not rushing the process.
