This is such a great skirt! The purple is dark and very vibrant! The fabric is a shiny printed stretch fabric, (think 80's rocker/hair band spandex or shiny bathing suit material.) If you are in-between sizes, I'd recommend going up. Here's why: The purple and black stripe is printed on white fabric. If you buy a size that's too tight, it will stretch too much and you will see the white showing through. Flat measurement on the size medium I received in inches: waist band (relaxed)= 13 3/4". Length from top of the waist band to hem = 23 1/2" . This skirt is flirty and it fits and twirls great! I absolutely will buy this brand again and highly recommend!
