木材トングは大変便利です。伐採作業や薪づくりで、丸太を動かしたい時に重宝します。昔ながらのトビは１点で木材を動かすので経験と技術がいりますが、木材トングは2点で丸太を挟み込むので比較的容易です。大は小を兼ねるで大きいサイズも使ったことがありますが、この20cm径で十分、太い丸太も扱えます。感覚的には直径30cmクラスの丸太も挟んで動かすことができます。そのまま腰袋に入れていると、持ち手のところが枝などに引っかかってよく落とします。サイズの合った専用のホルダーに収納するのがおすすめです。

A must have for shifting logs so much easier on your hands. saves my tennis elbow from flaring up and once you master the technique so fast and safe now have two and a larger pair

Had some trees cut down in the backyard and the tree cutters used the larger 12" tongs and picked up large chucks of wood. Not wanting to ever lift something that big I opted for the 8" version. With just a little practice (minutes) you can get the hang of engaging and disengaging a piece of wood one handed, just like the pros. By the way the 8" one will grip larger than 8" logs, I was able to attach it to a 12+ inch log and lift it. Wouldn't want to do it very often, but in those small number of times you need to lift a larger piece of wood. The tongs are plated nickle/chrome ??? so exposure to the elements shouldn't be a problem and the plastic grips are comfortable too. You don't have to bend over as much as compared to hand lifting. You don't have to worry about little creatures (bugs/snakes) jumping on you either. Your hands remain clean too!!! I would buy again.
