These are sooooo much better than the cheap HD ones every buys and breaks. These really are built to last a loooooong time! Very heavy to move around though...which speaks to the quality of the plastic/resin material used.

We have had this chair now for nearly 3 years and it is holding up very well. It is under cover in the winter months but exposed to rain and sun during spring/summer. We don’t use the reclining feature, have found the middle setting is best and I did buy a thin pad for added comfort. There are no signs of any detrition, the materials are high quality and there has been no color fading. These chairs are not inexpensive but we feel this was worth the price and would definitely buy again.

The chairs feel very sturdy and are reasonably comfortable. If you tighten up the bolts too much, the chairs are harder to fold and unfold. They will blow over on windy days, so we keep them collapsed which keeps them in place.Overall, a well designed chair.

These chairs are fairly expensive so after reading reviews on many different ones we decided to get one of these before we went all in on four so it would be easy to return if necessary. Our experience is as follows: arrived in 2 days via usps, nicely packaged and well protected, all the parts were in the box as well as the instructions. An Allen wrench for the bolts and a driver for the screws is included, the hardware appears to be of high quality, a cordless drill with the supplied driver helps make quick work of assembly, took 20 minutes. Everything fit together perfectly, found no rough edges or misaligned parts. I am 6' 1" and 250 and I fit in the chair just fine, the curved back is a great feature. The chair does fold more or less flat but I doubt we would ever have a reason to do that. There are three levels of seat adjustment, the middle one seems like it would be best for most people. The chair is comfortable and relatively sturdy, the front legs/arms seem a bit wobbly seemingly due to the fact that there is only one bolt holding ittogether at that point but that is required for it to be foldable, does not seem to be a problem just something I noted. The chair looks great, is of good workmanship, made of high quality materials and seems like it will last a long time under normal usage. The color was accurately portrayed in the photo. We ordered three more. After reading all of the reviews there was no obvious choice so I thought it may help to share our experience. Go ahead and get this chair.

Who doesn't love the look of an Adirondack chair? They just say "summer," don't they? About 10 years ago, I bought solid wood A-dack chairs from the big name. They were nice, not the most comfortable, but we liked them. AFter ten years on the front porch, they were just shot. All the paint peeling and the cost to respray was prohibitive. So, I decided to try the plastic version, still from Bean. They looked great and were easy to assemble. BUT, they were terribly uncomfortable. No one sits on them. Why? Made of inflexible plastic and without a curve in the back, they are like sitting on a hard wood bench, but worse. And at 30% higher cost than the wood version, I was disappointed. So it was with some reservations that I decided to take the plunge and buy the Highwood version, also plastic, but with a curved back. Here are my impressions so far:1. The look of the materials is terrific. And this from a historic preservationist, not usually a fan of plastic made to look like (fake)wood. But in this case, the grey looks like stained wood. Only the edges of the arms, at the front where they are cut from the "plank" do they give themselves away. I was impressed.2. Putting them together does go better with two people. You just need an extra pair of hand to hold the pieces together while you insert the hardware. That said, the first chair took me, alone, about an hour. With help, the second took 30 minutes and the 3rd and 4th went together in 20 and 15 minutes respectively. Maybe the moral is buy a bunch to leverage your knowledge of how these go together.3. Like others have mentioned, we had to ream out the holes that took the plastic washers. We used and electric drill for the job.4. THe chairs are just plain comfortable.Ergonomically designed, both the seat and back envelope you perfectly. Sometimes, I just go sit in the chairs. Just sit. Not read, not visit with friends. Just sit. It's that comfortable. In my opinion, even if a chair is tough as nails and won't succumb to the climate for decades, it's only as good as it's comfortable. Yes, these are expensive (but not as expensive as the Bean version) but they have earned their keep in my book.
