This little Hikeman collapsible trash can is game changer for us. We used to just bring garbage bags, and at night would have to tie the bag up and either store the trash bag in our car or our toilet tent in order to prevent tempting critters or wildlife from digging through our trash.This Hikeman trash can makes it so much easier now!! It fits a standard 13 gallon kitchen trash bag folded over the sides (as pictured). It also has pinch clips along the inside to hold up your trash bags if you dont prefer the fold over method. At night now all we have to do is unfold the trash bag from over the lip of the Hikeman, and just cinch up the trash bag. The best part is - the Hikeman comes with a sturdy zip top closure, preventing any critters or wildlife messing with our trash!!! Which means we can just leave it out at night now and we never have to worry!!!A couple of other useful features that the Hikeman comes with are the cute little structure “tent poles” that are used on the INSIDE of the Hikeman to help keep it standing and staying upright as the trash can starts to get full.It also comes with little stake down points/loop tabs which was really helpful when it got really windy at camp for a few hours. Also staking it down ensures no animal or critter will be walking off with it or dragging it away from our camp.Lastly there are two clips on each “side” - if that makes sense (since its circle) which keeps the Hikeman flat and prevents it from popping open during storage/transportation or when not in use.This is one item that has made camping for us so much easier and much more clean and organized. If we ever lost it or it broke, we would definitely buy another. We would never want to camp without it again. 10/10 defitely reccomend!!!!

Update Review - Just returned from a four month RV trip where we used the HIKEMAN almost daily. We really liked the trash can but it didn't hold up. First casualty was one of the buckles that keeps the trash can secure when it's collapsed. The second and this one is strange, one of the pole holders along the top just went missing. There are three sets, three along the bottom and three along the top, where you insert the collapsible rods to keep the trash can open. Couldn't find a tear or anything, it's just gone. So, now the trash can won't stay open (extended) and we have to use a bungee to keep it close. Not sure if we'll keep it.Used it for the first time on a recent two week RV trip. We travel pulling a small tear drop so space is a premium but we wanted some sort of trash bag outside our rig. For this first trip it fit the bill. Folds down small, two straps with clips keep it collapsed. Does come with a roll of trash bags but we replaced them with tall kitchen trash bags. The clips along the inside to hold the trash bag are nice, you just have to make sure you clip them shut properly. Our has three telescoping poles that keep the bag upright. The zippered lid is also nice and can be closed at night and won't interfere with the actual trash bag. It seems well made, not cheap at all. Overall happy with the product. If we have issues one way or the other on our upcoming four month trip with this product, we'll update our review.

I bought this to take camping. I hate the clips on the inside that hold the bag so I just fold the bag over the top. They work well, it’s just time consuming. Sometimes it collapses a little while in use. I really like the option of closing the lid and staking it down in windy weather. It’s lightweight and compact to store in our camper.

I really wanna give this 5 stars. The quality is great and durable. This will be great for camping, the beach, the lake etc. BUT the smell has to go. It’s giving be a headache and I have to clean it.

One of the most overlooked things at camp or on any day spent enjoying the outdoors is your waste. Far too often do we see items left here and there on our trails and beaches. This helps organize and remind you where to put your trash. I grew tired of haphazardly tying the trash bags to trees or whatever it could wrap around. This thing has a recoil system to help pack it down when storing. It also has clips to help keep your chosen trash bag in place when it’s in use so it doesn’t sink into itself. It has a zipper lid to help close the bag up and keep your trash bag safe from getting torn. That way you can keep it intact until you can get to a dumpster bin. It also has Velcro straps on the sides to also help secure it to awning, or tent poles.Love this thing.
