Schneidet leider nicht bis unten durch, egal wie fest man drückt, sodass es ein Gefummel ist bis man alle Spalten da raus hat. Deswegen leider zurück, da bin ich mit dem Messer schneller. :(

I ordered this product after breaking the handles/ring on my plastic one during use. This heavy duty option is perfect!The blades are sharp and the ring & handles are very sturdy. I am not worried about this one breaking at all. I also am not worried about damaging or weakening it in the dishwasher. I have had this for awhile and it looks brand new.Highly recommend if you are looking for a heavy duty slicer!

This seems like such a great idea but I was very skeptical. Is it sharp? Does it completely remove the apple core. Will it work?Yes it does. It works perfectly on all counts. I love that I can just throw it in the dishwasher after I use it. I wish I would have bought this years ago.

I always thought it was lazy to have something like this, instead of just cutting the apple myself with a regular knife. I was wrong.This is not only really handy, but sturdy as well. It has some weight to it, which makes me feel like it helps to cut the apple. My kids (9-12) can use it without issues, which I appreciate. The slices are perfectly sized as well.

I’ve been cooking for more years than I want to admit but it’s only this past two years I have been trying new things to get meal preparation done more efficiently. I have been buying, cooking and freezing in bulk; looking for recipes that are delicious yet prepared with very minimal effort (VERY minimal!); taking shortcuts like buying Yukon Gold potatoes and eating them with their skins on, and finding helpful tools to reduce my labour.I hadn’t considered getting an apple corer/slicer for a long time because I used to have one and it barely cut through the apples. I threw it out without realizing that there are apple corers/slicers that actually work.This slicer/corer is heavy from all of the stainless steel used. The blades on this are razor sharp and extend beyond the lower lip to get your fruit sliced entirely through. I really appreciate having 12 slices instead of 8 because I like my slices thinner to make pies, apple crisps, and applesauce. With 8 slices I feel like only half of my apple preparation is done because everything still needs to be sliced in half.It’s not that it really takes that much longer to cut in half the slices that you already have; it’s the psychological aspect of adding yet another project to the long list I always have of things to be done. The really sad part in all of this is that no one is getting any apple crisp around here, and that includes me.So this old dog is going to make up a large batch of flour, butter, and brown sugar and put it in the freezer. Now when anyone wants apple crisp, all I need to do is wash the apples, run them through this slicer/corer, grab some topping from the freezer, and toss the whole thing in the oven. Done. Wait. Did I forget to peel the apples? Nope. That would be too much like work. I have grown to prefer potato peels in my mashed potatoes and I will soon grow to love apple peels in my apple crisps, too.This corer/slicer is also a must-have tool if you have kids buzzing around the house- (of any age, so that might include your partner). Just run an apple or two through this, grab a few slices for yourself, hand the leftovers to them on a plate, and tell them they may eat it over there. Where’s ‘over there’? Somewhere that they won’t bother you, that’s where!This seller listed several other fruits this can work with but didn’t mention peaches, nectarines, large plums and dinosaur eggs/plumcots. For those, cut the fruit in half to remove the stone. Put it back together again and set it in a very small bowl like a ramekin or condiment bowl that will hold the halves together tightly. It’s important that the bowl is the right size to hold the fruit properly because you don’t want any part of your hand to touch those very sharp blades. Press down slowly on the corer/slicer until it reaches the top of the bowl, then lift up the slicer with the fruit still in it, halfway sliced through. Rest the fruit on a cutting board and continue to slice through to the bottom. If you plan to use the slicer quite a bit for large stone fruit, amass a collection of small bowls of slightly different sizes so you will always have a bowl that is the perfect size for each piece of fruit.I noticed in the seller’s description that it said, ‘dishwasher safe’. This slicer/corer sort of is and it sort of isn’t. On the box they say that this should neither be washed in very acidic solution nor in a very alkaline one. Dishwasher soaps, especially some of the new uber-heavy duty ones, are pretty nasty, concentrated chemicals and hot water can intensify the damage they do. The stainless steel on this slicer/corer looks to be top quality but I’d never put my best kitchen knives in the dishwasher so I’m not put my new friend in there either.

I have problems with most of my joints and it's painful to cut an apple with a knife, and impossible to just bite into an apple without seriously messing up my jaw. I had an 8-blade slicer, but the slices were still a little too thick for my jaw issues, and it was lightweight and not very sharp. This one is the exact opposite. The slices are the perfect thickness. The slicer is made of stainless steel, and it's actually quite a bit heavier than I expected, which I like since the weight can help you work with gravity to cut the apple. So far it's pretty easy to cut into the apples and the blades seem to be pretty sharp. It even came with a little cleaning brush, so you don't have to shred your sponge or fingers trying to clean all the little spots where stuff likes to get stuck. If the need ever arises I'll definitely buy another one of these, but as sturdy is it is, it might last forever.
