Nicely manufactured tool. Comes with cutting edge coated for protection (as it should) and will need honed before use.Far superior to all of the Far East cheap, badly made chisels flooding Amazon.Remember, buy cheap, buy twice. False economy......

Leider ist dieses Produkt auf keinen Fall weiterzuempfehlen. Zum einen dauerte die Lieferung 3 Wochen, zum anderen taugt das Produkt nichts. Die Schneide ist total wellig und nicht geschliffen. Selbst bei Lindenholz geht kein Span ab.Haben auch das Produkt mit 18mm bestellt, auch da mussten wir die gleichen Erfahrung machen.

First of all, it looks good, from its hardened steel blade and hardwood handle to the metal band around the top to prevent splitting. It is well balanced in the hand and very sharp - and stays sharp. Yes it cost a fair bit, but it won't let you down, and your children will use it after you.

I was not expecting a European made too, so I was pleasantly surprised to see this is Austrian. The grind is coarse and covered with lacquer. The ferrule and handle feels light. It needs a lot of work to shine it up, but it cuts.
