Best nail puller I've worked with, takes some elbow grease, but I was able to deal with nails I had no other options for than to pound in or flush cut and try to work around.

I had used the Crescent slide hammer nail pullers 30 years ago. I have an old wood dock that I need to pull up the boards for re-use so I don't want to bugger them up. I purchased this for that job. Worked very well. Tips for use: Drive the claws in deep so the grip the nail shaft and not just the head. Had some older nails snap the head off. Even gripping the nail shaft, many of the old and rusted nails snapped off. The newer nails or that had not rusted required full extension and body weight to fully extract.Likes:* small size, easily fit within tool pouch without taking up a lot of room. You probably have or need a hammer as well so takes up small additional space compared to the slide style pullers* Pair with the hammer you have, big, small, light, or heavy you are using a hammer that is familiar to you. Stuck nails like I have, you can use a longer hammer or crowbar* Action is simple and familiar: You don't have the learn a new skill by hammering with a sliding motion.* Having two tools instead of one is a minor inconvenience that is quickly overcome.Don't get me wrong, I will buy one of the antique made in USA slide hammer pullers if I find one at auction or garage sale. But it will hang in the shop for times when I need it. The Nail Puller ATLE will stay in the tool bag with my hammer and be there for the unexpected times it is needed.
