Heavy, all metal. Both the rolling and the turning bearings move smoothly. The rubber on the wheels has a little bit of give to it. I think these would be good for reducing the clattering noise of hard plastic wheels on tile, linoleum, or polished concrete. I was originally planning to put these on a piece of equipment that usually lives on unfinished concrete and sometimes needs to go on rough asphalt, but now I'm thinking that might chew up the tires a little too much. The only thing I'm not enthusiastic about is the design of the brake pad. It digs in to the center of the wheel quite aggressively, and I have concerns over the longevity of the wheel rubber. It looks like that contact area could become a weak spot that could start to get nicks. It looks to have a little bit of travel available so maybe it can be tinkered with.

I've built a number of movable woodworking and welding tables and can recognize good casters when I see them. These are very well-built: they spin and swivel smoothly, the steel used for the frame is thick, and the coating is flawless. The attention to detail is evident all around, from the welding beads to the thread-locking glue. I believe they will also last a long time. I'll try to remember to update this review with some photos after I finish my latest movable table.

I ordered these casters to replace the ones under a part shelf in my building. The shelf is home to many heavy antique tractor parts and over the years the weight has put a serious flat spot in the existing caster wheels. The current casters are definitely way to light duty for what they are doing but parts just kept accumulating. These casters are serious weight carriers! The wheel itself is three times the width of the current ones and the construction of the wheel and frame it a massive difference. The bases are just a little larger than the shelf feet so I will be attaching these to a piece of flat or angle steel, whatever's laying around here, then attaching the assembly to the shelf. I can barely move the shelf as it is now, mostly in fear of the old casters snapping off and dumping my parts all over. With the new casters I'll be able to move the shelf with ease the way it is supposed to be. I'll post an updated photo when they are on. Definitely would recommend these if you have some heavy stuff to roll around.

I needed to replace the heavy duty casters supporting a large heavy rolling toolbox. They were a plate / bolt pattern that you can’t just pick up at a local big box store. Easy rolling and lockable.
