After removing the filter from the sealed package it was found to be covered in some sort of fibers - both on the outside and inside. I used cleaning clothes to try to get the fibers off but they were very difficult to lift from the surface of the filter.

Got it for 2024 solar eclipse. The filter fit perfectly on Sigma 100-400mm E-mount lens. It produced great shots of full sun as well as various phases of the eclipse. Color-wise, resulting images of the sun are off-white, which can be tweaked in post with white balance and other adjustments. The filter came in a durable plastic square-shaped carrying/storage case, which is not too big. The filter fits securely inside.

I've been using a Mylar film solar filter since a few months before the 2017 Solar Eclipse, and have been very happy with it. Still my "go to".But Mylar is a sort of flimsy material - so I wanted to make sure I have a spare in pocket while planning for the 2024 eclipse.Interestingly - it seems all the Mylar has been rerouted to eclipse glasses, and I could not find a 67mm filter for my current camera. So decided to check out this glass filter.Pro: definitely an upgrade in material - this thing is SOLID compared to Mylar film. If I don't drop it on a rock or hit it with a hammer, it will likely outlive my camera.Con: If you want that warm orange color to your solar photography - this won't get it for you without a lot of post-processing. It will come off the card with good detail - but a washed-out white color that needs some tweaking to get the full detail.Pics - white is the ICE CO 67mm ND100000 filter. Orange is a Thousand Oaks Mylar filter purchased in early 2017. Minimal processing (contrast boost, highlights) on both.

This took me longer to read directions than to apply the lens protectors. Simple and easy.
