The only way I have seen to get a 10 stop ND has been either with stacked filters - which can bring their own optical problems - or variable density ND filters, which in my experience tend to give an unpleasant color cast to the shot. This is a filter that will not be useful for most general photography, but when it is needed, it is a good choice that avoids those pitfalls.

This 10 stop ND filter is really something that is only necessary for extremely bright scenarios, like shooting into bright lights, or maybe the sun, but it is very useful to get some special effects as well. I will be using it to shoot some music videos in the coming weeks, so it may be an essential filter for my needs to create the effect I am looking to get. Filter glass is sharp, with no noticeable distortion other than darkening the image. Threads to screw onto lens were adequate and smooth. Looking forward to using this in my next video for sure!
