A driver CREAMED our former mailbox. We ordered this mailbox as a replacement and lined it with concrete. The NEXT time someone hit THIS new mailbox, it will take out THEIR side mirrors or part of THEIR VEHICLE!!!

Bought this to re place our mailbox. Slightly larger so it can hold USPS deliveries. Nice quality and like plastic holder inside for letters so they won’t get wet.Recommend!

The design of this mailbox leads me to believe out will last longer than the one it replaced. More solid construction and better design with fewer weak points. Door opens and closes more easily to reduce wear and tear.

* Overall Impression:-This is a good value for a medium sized, good quality, metal, classic style that looks nice.* Pros-what I liked and what worked well:-Good value for the style, size and quantity.-Good quality, sturdy and well made and nicely finished.-Medium sized. It’s not a standard small one, nor a super large one, right in the middle.-Metal (not plastic) with a welded powder coated steel construction.-Single front door opening.-2 flags included in 2 colors. (to signal for an outgoing pickup) (hardware to install is included)-Classic, standard shape and style.-Post mount style (no post is included, you’ll need to provide your own and attachment hardware of your own).-Universal pattern for the mounting hardware on the post. (no hardware is included, you’ll need your own)-Round cone style grasping pull on the front door to open and close it.-Magnetic style door closure.-For outdoor use, all weather rated, weatherproof.-Inner liner.-Corrosion resistant.-Size:Length: (front to back) 19 inchesWidth: (side to side across the front) 8 inchesHeight: (base of to top) 10.5 inches* Cons-what I didn’t like and what didn’t work well:-No number or letter stickers were included with it, you’ll need to provide your own.-Doesn’t have a second flag or marker to show arrival. Some have a smaller second flag that when the door is opened it will raise automatically so you can see from a distance that it’s arrived. This one has two flags, but they’re for color choices, you can’t install both or use one to signal a pickup in the box and the other for an arrival. It’s only a standard flag for pickup signaling.-No back door to the back side of the box for access from both the front and back. It can only be opened from the front side.-No mounting hardware is included, you’ll need to provide your own.* Tips & Thoughts:-Note that you will need your own base post and attachment hardware to use with this, it’s not included.-Be sure and check your local regulations on how and where to install this. There are usually guidelines on how far from the road, height and how and where it should be placed.-It’s not included, but if you don’t have one I’d highly suggested it. If you need a way to quickly see when it’s been opened and things have arrived, an alarm designed for this isn’t very expensive. I have one that I place one part of it (battery operated, it lasts about a year or more on a battery) stuck (sticky tape on one side) to the inner door. The other base alarm is alerted when it’s opened (as long as you are sure that it’s able to handle the distance between the two) and is inside the house. It’s plugged into a standard outlet (some are battery operated) and an audible alarm goes off and a color light on the top lights up to let me know it’s been opened if I didn’t hear the alarm. It’s not included, but we love ours and wish we’d gotten one sooner and I highly recommend getting one (be sure it’s designed for this use). We don’t have to look out and guess or try to see a tiny secondary flag (some have, this doesn’t) or take trips out to check, we hear the alarm or see the light.-One thing to note, as someone who lives in a country rural area where they tend to get knocked around and have impacts by vehicles, snowplows. Metal ones you can often repair, repaint, touch up, and get dents out of if this happens. But we have found over the years that some of the sturdier plastic ones seem to take the impact (when it happens) a little bit better. Some fall apart the first time, but our last one survived several impacts off the post (quite a few feet into the yard) and we didn’t have to repair it, just reattach it. So keep this in mind if you live in an area this is an issue. This is sturdy, but some may prefer plastic vs metal due to this.-Note that this is a medium size, it’s not super small, but not super large.-Be sure and check the listing pictures and details for the measurements and instructions. You may want to save, print or refer to them for later reference.
